This Roatan Southside Reef Snorkel, Monkey/Sloth Park Excursion is perfect for nature lovers! You'll have the chance to take photos of the sloths and monkeys, explore one of Roatan's stunning reefs, and enjoy the best of your day.

Your adventure begins when you meet your expert guide outside the Roatan cruise terminal. From there, you'll board air-conditioned transportation for a short 25-minute ride to AJ's Monkey and Sloth Hangout. What began as a personal hobby has grown into a sanctuary for injured and abandoned animals, including sloths and monkeys. Upon arrival, you'll have 45 minutes to observe these fascinating residents, along with parrots and other wildlife. Their quirky personalities will make for some excellent photo opportunities to share with friends and family back home. The sanctuary is home to many animals, including raccoons and native species, that help educate visitors on habitat preservation, animal care, and conservation.

Please note that, due to local regulations, holding the animals is no longer allowed. However, you’ll still have the chance to get up close and personal with them!

Next, you will have a short walk to the dock where you will get ready to explore the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean as you board a boat to snorkel at one of the closest reefs to French Cay. French Cay Marine Park, Coco View Reef Wall, Prince Albert Shipwreck, or Big French Cay will be the available options based on the current weather conditions. Your guide will provide instructions for the first-timers and give you your snorkel gear. They will show you how to use it and then assist anyone who needs it. Once in the water, your guide will be pointing out the abundant marine life the reef has; from conch, lobsters, manta rays, and a great variety of tropical fish. Your snorkel time is approximately 1 hour.

When the boat returns to the dock, you will jump back to your comfortable transportation to enjoy a relaxing ride back to your cruise terminal and return safe and sound to your cruise ship after an amazing adventure in Roatan's nature!

Excursion Notes

• We recommend you bring along biodegradable sunblock, swimsuit, towel, camera, change of clothes, and cash for the balance payment of excursion, food or drinks, souvenirs, tips, etc.
  
• You must bring a printed copy of your e-ticket!
• Please consider due to local regulations holding Monkeys, Sloths, or any other wild animal is no longer permitted.
• Not available on Sundays

Where we meet

For the Roatan Southside Reef Snorkel, Monkey / Sloth Park Excursion, you will meet your excursion guide outside your Roatan cruise terminal (Coxen Hole and Port of Roatan Mahogany Bay). All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum age to snorkel is 4 years old.
  
• This Roatan Monkey and Sloth Park, Southside Reef Snorkel, and Beach Excursion is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
  
• All underage children must be accompanied by an adult, guardian, or parent.
• Guests must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.
• People under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or similar substances that may prevent safe enjoyment, are not allowed to participate.
  
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the boat from the pier.
• Guests wishing to snorkel or swim must be able to pull themselves from the water using the boat ladder.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
