This Roatan West Bay Bananarama Resort Beach Day Pass Excursion is available for cruise ship passengers arriving at the Port of Roatan Coxen Hole and Mahogany Bay.

Your transportation will be waiting for you as you exit the cruise terminal and take you to your day in paradise, at the Bananarama Resort. Your route will take you on a scenic drive from the ship's pier to the famed West Bay Beach area of Roatan's East End. The drive is about 20 minutes from Coxen Hole pier and 45 minutes from Mahogany Bay pier.

This is a good Roatan Beach Resort Day Pass for everyone in your group looking to get away and have some fun in the sun. A complimentary welcome beverage will be waiting for you - one per participant, choose from local beer, soft drink, or welcome drink. Adults will also have a reserved, guaranteed lounge chair on the beach.

You choose your activity level - relax in the shade, stroll the water's edge, swim in the aqua-blue Caribbean, or just soak up some vacation sunshine. The beach is gorgeous and has been used to shoot many international movies. There are 4 restaurants if you choose to purchase lunch or just snacks. There are also freshwater showers, restrooms, etc. for you to use. Lockers are available for a USD 5.00 additional fee.

When your Bananarama day pass excursion comes to an end, your transportation will pick you up approximately 1.5 hours before your ship leaves port and will take you back to your cruise ship terminal. Your exact time at the beach club depends on your ship's time in port.

There are additional activities available at Bananarama Resort such as parasailing, paddle boarding SUP, SCUBA diving, banana boat rides, water trampoline and float toys, jet skis, deep sea fishing, kayaks, snorkel gear, etc. (cost not included).

Drinks, food and great service made the rough waters worth it

The storm that had come out of the Pacific caused the ordinarily calm and relaxed beach to be a tad turbulent and wavy. The crystal clear water that was normally present was not to be had this day but water clarity and snorkeling were still fantastic from shore. We were told upon arrival the free drink was no longer included which was a bit of a let down. Once your there, you can sit inside the resorts roped off area or in the chairs in a certain section outside the resorts area which is subject to vendor pressure. The facilities were adequate and food and drinks were tasty and service was fantastic. Donna our guide/driver got us there safe and sound.

A very nice and fun experience in Roatan! We met our guide, Donna, and she drove the group (in a/c van) to the. Banarama Beach Club (about a 20 minute ride from Coxen Hole pier). We stopped along the way and everyone got to choose a welcome beverage before arriving at Banarama, paid for by Donna. On arrival, shown to our loungers in the shade. Beach was great and our server, Jenny, took great care of us! There was an armed security guard present so the numerous vendors passing back and Roth were well-behaved and the guard made sure nobody was pressured to buy their wares. Plenty of sun and beautiful sand and water. Food and drinks were also great. We will return!

Bait and Switch: Will Try to Switch Locations

Driver said Bananarama only has a dozen beach chairs and the group should go to a place called Fosters instead. Said there would be beach chairs, Palapas, and shade. â€œWelcome drinkâ€ was not at the resort, but stopping at a gas station on the way to get a bottle of water! Upon arrival at Fosters, there were no palapas and no shade. Food was 50% more expensive than other places, food quality was very poor, and some of the meat was inedible. Why sell tickets to one place only to try to switch it after booking?

Did not receive what was promised

This booking "guarantees" every adult a reserved beach chair. This is not true. There are only about 20 total beach chairs and they were completely full by the time we arrived. We also did not receive our welcome drink that is listed. All adults in our party ordered one and when they brought us a check to pay for them, I inquired of our driver. She stated if they had to pay for all of our welcome drinks, they wouldn't be making any money. Although this was a fun day and we still enjoyed ourselves, it's pretty disappointing to book something based on amenities offered and those amenities not be honored. When I contacted Shore Excursioneer, they basically told me its in their Terms and Conditions and they couldn't refund me. I didn't even ask for a refund. But, I did expect that SE would provide some type of apology and/or an effort to make it right. We have booked through them many times but I'm not sure they will be our first choice any longer.

Beautiful but not very relaxing

This is a beautiful place but the locals hound you and are constantly trying to sell their products to you. It is a very busy area and not very relaxing. The meeting location was a long walk from the ship as well. It takes a while to get here from the cruise port but our driver was amazing. I donâ€™t know that I would come back.

The place itself is extremely beautiful. It is a slight walk but very manageable for most. We had a ride from the port to the beach and Felicia was the best! Parking does need more managing since it was a very small lot for our party of 10. The food was good and the drink included was only for the local beer and punch. The influx of locals continuously asking us to buy products was extremely annoying and made me spend most of my time either on the beach or hiding in bananarama. Other than that the experience was lovely and I would definitely recommend.

Great Time, but communication needs some work

Tour was fun, except for the misunderstanding about returning to the ship. We had several individual parties within our group, and the driver wouldn't leave unless every party in our group wanted to leave. Several voiced complaints about wanting to return to the ship at different times. Some obtained more free drinks than the tour called for, while others didn't receive the vouchers the Bananarama bar wanted for the free drinks. The resort is at a beautiful spot, and these communication issues were the only snafu in an otherwise great tour.

Great Beach & Snorkeling

Kayla picked us up at cruise port & stayed at the Bananarama Resort until it was time to go back. Resort was good with beach chairs & tables for dining, lot's of options for food. Beach was pretty crowded with several cruise ships in that day. But was still very pleasant. Went snorkeling on boat for $20 per person for about an hour & the reef was fantastic. saw lots of fish & 2 sea turtles. Also snorkeled from beach down at the end by rock wall & that was good as well. Only negative was the massage ladies that would not leave us alone.

Nice resort to lay out on the beach

Getting to the resort was the biggest challenge. We had to wait for another couple who was also part of our van ride. The traffic at port gets extremely backed up. Once we arrived it was a nice area with beach chairs. There is security there to make sure your stuff is safe and that people who should not be using the chairs are kept out. We had food there that was decent. We bought a boat ride to do some snorkeling out on the reef, but I'd say save your money and you can walk to that area and then swim out. Overall a very nice experience.

More than we expected

When we arrived at the port, we were directed down a hill to meet our guide, my first thought was oh my goodness, should we? When we got closer to the bottom of the hill there were hundreds of tourist meeting their guides, so my mind was at ease. We were met by Orin, who was absolutely the most polite guide Iâ€™ve ever experienced. He led us to his vehicle along with another couple from our ship we met for the first time. He asked us if there was anything else we wanted to do and if so just tell him. He explained we were his only tour and that he oiled always be nearby and we can leave at our leisure. He was very sweet and knowledgeable. He walked us to the be h showed us where the beach chairs were and showers and restrooms. He asked us what time we would like to leave and we told him and he was right there when we were ready to leave. The beach was beautiful, the only down fall were the locals trying to sell us everything. But we had security there the entire time. My grandkids love swimming with the fish. The rest of my family actually bought a snorkeling adventure a once we arrived for $15. They had a blast. On the drive back Orin shared so much about the island and the local history and answered all of our questions. He even stopped at Bojangles for my oldest daughter who only eats a few select things lol. When we return he dropped us at the port and we didnâ€™t have to walk again. I highly recommend this excursion and Shore Excursioneers. They are affordable and provided us with a great experience and made sure we were all safe, happy and had fu !

Walking up the hill was a great hike, but we easily found our driver we waited a few minutes, but the rest was amazing our driver Donna was amazing made a few stops on the way to the beach for us to take fotos great but she got us to the beach and settled in, she made everything easy and made sure we were confty she was there at the time we wanted to get back to the ship we arrived and hated to say goodbye if you get this package make sure you ask for Donna great driver friendly but mostly shared alot of info about the island which later i confirmed no lies......

Best Roatan excursion ever

The driver was very accommodating offering a tour of the island on our way to the beach. The beach was clean and relaxing. There are armed guards on the beach for everyoneâ€™s safety. My US soldier, husband, appreciated the additional protection. Service was outstanding. Definitely would recommend and will do again.

Absolutely flawless beach! This excursion was an excellent value. There are trees for shade- perfect to escape the sun on a hot day. If you are a sunbather you can always move your chair into the sun. Food and drinks were at your own expense and were reasonably priced with excellent service. We grabbed a boat on the beach to take us out to the reef for $25 a person. The only negative is all the beach vendors that nag non-stop for hair braiding, massages, trinket selling. It was excessive and really bothersome. I wish Bananarama would prevent them from nothing guests because this is the only negative I can say from an otherwise completely enjoyable day. Our lovely guide (canâ€™t remeber her name and I feel awful because she was fantastic) waited for us at the beach and was very helpful.

We easily located our guide for the day right outside the gate to the dock. Kaylee gave us a ride to the beach and told us all about the island. She stayed with us for the day and even watched our stuff while we snorkeled. We took our own snorkel gear and were able to get our to the area the excursion boats parked, so no need to purchase a boat ride to the snorkel area. I didnâ€™t realize that the balance needed to be paid in cash, so with five of us that drained most of our cash for the day. One of the best excursions and our guide for the day was great!

Shaun was an excellent driver for this excursion. Our family of 5 was picked up promptly at the meeting point and we were driven to the resort. Shaun helped to smooth over the confusion regarding our welcome drinks upon arrival at the resort and was readily available when we were ready to return to the port. Food prices were a bit high here in my opinion, but we really enjoyed the 2 for 1 rum punch deal that was going on :) Lots of vendors walking the beach- grab a back row lounge chair to get a little less attention from them. Beautiful beach and a great time!

this place is my favore in this trip I had such a good time. From the moment we meet with Orlin our guide a 19 year old brilliant young men. He went out of his way to make sure we was happy, comfortable and all our questions was answer . More Young men like him are need . We went to Bananarama there we meet Freddy and Edwin 2 waiters also they was alway courteous and very attentive to everyone's need we laugh and joke around wich made our time at the BANANARAMA wanting to return this time by flying and spend few days there

Everything was great; we loved it. We stayed about 5 hours which was plenty of time left to explore shops at port. There were some vendors on the beach but we had chairs on the back row so they didnâ€™t bother us too much plus our chairs were nice and shaded. You could order drinks and food from your chair, staff nice and friendly. We arrived early which is good because itâ€™s less crowded; around 11-12 all the other excursions start rolling in. Dive shop was great, plenty of activities. We were on Carnival and had to walk outside port and up a hill, a little confusing but once we were down the hill started seeing all the other tour companies but they did drop us off right at the port so we didnâ€™t have to walk so far. Found the person with "Shore Excursioneer" sign very fast and we were off. Our tour guide Carla and she was awesome. Love this place (this was our 2nd visit), would definitely recommend and return. We love the beach and so far this is the best.

It was basically the same beach that all the excursions go to even from the ship but it was nice that there were so many less people there and we all had our own chairs without too many extra people from the cruise ships since there was two there that day. Although the whole strand of beach was crowded ours feeled like it was our personal beach! Our only complaint was trying to find our excursion operator because there were soooo many at the meeting point it was a little overwhelming.

Cynthia was a wonderful tour guide as we traveled to and from the beach, teaching us about the history and culture along the way. The beach was clean and had fine white sand. We got chairs in the shade and good service from the waiter, although the bar service was a bit slow. We had a few parasail, a few snorkel (we saw starfish) and a few just relax. A great stop!

Great beach day and Wonderful guide

We wanted a beach day from our cruise and booked this trip. After a bit of searching for the meeting place, we met our guide, Rex. He was a wonderful young man and was very personable. He answered all of our questions about the island. The resort was not the highlight of our trip. The designated swimming area was anchored with several dive boats coming and going. We ended up walking to the left of a large dock serving one of the major dive operations. There was a very nice reef within a short swimming distance from the shore. Visibility was great and the depth was about 35 feet. The beach was beautiful. After 4 hours of swimming we went back to the resort. I mentioned to Rex that I was looking for good Honduran cigars and he took a route toward the city back to our ship. He found me a nice humidor/bar that had my cigars. The trip was very nice and made all the better with this knowledgeable, safe driver, who took pride in his island.

We are major fans of Shore Excursioneer and knew that if this resort was on your list it had to be great, and indeed, exceeded our expectations. Our driver Orlin was waiting for us when we disembarked with a comfortable car. This wasn't our first visit to Roatan so we really didn't need (or really desire) an island tour. Orlin did remind us of various sights on our way to the resort. Bananarama was simply delightful. We've rarely seen such a white, sugar sand beach or clearer water. No rocks, no steep approach to the water at all....just perfect, walk in - walk out. The food was so tasty and such huge portions. The coconut shrimp great and lobster bites are our favorite. It was wonderful day and we hated to leave. Orlin was there to safely return us to the dock. This is a 5 star tour without any reservation. This is a trip for solo, couples and family.

We skipped the ship's excursion and planned our own here at Bananarama Resort. Saved a 'boatload' (pun totally intended) of money and had a great afternoon snorkeling. For $5 we rented a locker for our valuables and relaxed the day away. If we go back to Roatan, we'll def. do this again.

Visited Sept. 17, 2015 We had a fabulous day. Price was half of cruise line excursions and we had privileges of changing room, rest room, beach chair, music was playing, and the beach was beautiful. We were able to snorkel by just wading in at the shore. Don't miss the brick oven pizza for lunch. Transportation was right on time and the hosts were wonderful. We would definitely go back again without hesitation.

This is good if you just want a chair on the beach. You need to purchase your own drinks and food. The same if you want to do any water activities as nothing is included.You do get a punch drink when you arrive. But for the price, it is nice to have the transportation!
