It's time to get off the beaten path and experience the true beauty of Cozumel on an exciting and informative off-road adventure! Jungle Jeep driving, cenote swim, guided snorkel, and much more!

Begin your Cozumel Jeep and Caverns Excursion when you meet your guide at a location near your cruise port in Cozumel. Once you receive your instructions, get behind the wheel of a Jeep and follow your guide south down the island road caravan-style to El Cedral, the oldest town on Cozumel. Please note they are shared, 4-person vehicles. There is an option to pay a VIP charge and have the Jeep all to yourselves (please see the pricing list). The drive is smooth on paved roads. Learn the history of the town as well as the Mayan culture. This quaint village has been in existence through the era of the Mayans, and the Spanish, and into the present. In addition to the approximately 140 homes that are inhabited, the oldest church on the island (which is still active) and a tiny Mayan ruin are located here.

Next, it is time to go off-roading through the lush, green jungle to Jade Cavern where you will be able to swim in the fresh waters of the Chempita Cenote if water conditions allow. Your shore excursion guide will lead you down the dirt trails - be prepared to get dirty, may be muddy, and ready for fun. If you aren't familiar with cenotes, these are deep water pools that are actually sinkholes formed by water coming up through the limestone soil over thousands of years. And the water is generally quite chilly but refreshing. At the Chempita Cenote, you can either jump in from a platform or for the more adventurous, from a 20-foot cliff! Or you can just watch from the banks. You will have approximately 30 minutes at the cenote. Note that these are not swimming pools but natural water holes - there will be leaves and other natural debris. Your Jungle Jeep excursion driving time is approximately 30-40 minutes. 

After hopping back into your Jeep and returning to El Cedral, you will have a brief tequila tour of the village and will learn the history and the process of making tequila. Of course, you will have the opportunity to taste a few of the many flavors available.

Then it is off to Palmar Beach Club and Dzul Ha Reef where you will have a guided snorkel experience. The guide will pass out your snorkeling gear, show you how to use it if needed, and then assist you into the water right from the shore. The waters of Cozumel are crystal clear and shades of blue you can only imagine! Below the surface is a host of marine life for you to see. It will be difficult to capture this experience in words, so bring along your underwater camera to take photos to share with your friends and family. Your snorkeling time will be approximately 30-45 minutes.

At the conclusion of your snorkeling excursion, you will be taken back to your meeting point near your cruise port. However, if you wish to linger and extend your experience, you are welcome to remain at the beach club and return to your Cozumel cruise port at your own expense. Either way, you will have had a truly memorable day on the Island of the Swallows!

Excursion Notes

• Each Jeep is shared and holds up to 4 people.
  
• For those who do not want to share their Jeep with others, there is a minimum order of 2 adults with one VIP charge added.
• We suggest you bring along sun protection, a change of clothes, a swimsuit, water shoes/sneakers for the cenote, a camera, cash, etc.
• For safety reasons, snorkeling locations may be substituted due to weather or ocean conditions.
  
• The excursion itinerary, as well as the stops, may be adjusted based on the conditions of the day to allow for the best experience.
• If you require a car seat, please indicate at the time of booking. The car seat will take up one adult space in the Jeep.
• Arrangements for an automatic transmission Jeep must be made at the time of the booking (please add to notes during the booking process).

Where we meet

For this Cozumel Jungle Jeep, Jade Cavern, Cenote Swim, and Snorkel Adventure Excursion you will meet your guide just across the street from your cruise ship terminal in Cozumel. All necessary information will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum age to drive a Jeep is 18 years old - all those wishing to drive must have their valid driver's license with them.
  
• All guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult/guardian participating in this excursion.
  
• This excursion is not allowed for guests with limited mobility, heart conditions, breathing issues, epilepsy, or any other illness that prevent their safe participation.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
