Your transportation will pick you up right outside the cruise pier terminal where your friendly guide will greet you and get your excursion started. As you are traveling through the countryside your certified guide will be giving you information and entertaining stories about the area. When you reach the rafting base, you will get on board your 30ft. bamboo raft and meet your Jamaican captain who will pole the raft down the river Huck Finn style. The rafting trip down this 3-mile stretch of the well-known Martha Brae is one of the most exhilarating in Jamaica. The journey takes about 90 minutes. The upper reaches tumble at a good pace before slowing farther down the river where you stop at "Tarzan's Corner" for a swing and a swim in a calm pool.

Each raft only holds 2 passengers so overcrowding is never an issue. Bring your camera as the Great River has lots to see and photograph as you pass through the rainforest.

You will see the highlights and sights of Montego Bay. After the relaxation of the Martha Brae river, reboard your bus for a short ride back to the pier. Drive up to the High Road for spectacular views of the ocean and the International Airport. Then, travel through Sam Sharpe Square, the town's center which is named after one of the National Heroes, Samuel Sharpe. The history he created is interesting and filled with bravery and courage. Your tour guide will tell you all about it and all the other interesting features that make this tour educational and interesting. Then, continue your journey on the Howard Cooke Highway.

Excursion Notes

• We recommend wearing casual clothes, walking shoes or sandals.
• Bring along sun protection, a swimsuit, a towel, a camera, mosquito repellent, and cash for souvenirs, tips, shopping, etc.
• If anyone from your group does not show up without the required prior notice, you will need to pay 20% of their balance as well (directly to the operator as a no-show penalty).
  
• Please note there is a minimum needed of 4 participants to run this excursion.

Where we meet

Excursion Restrictions

• The maximum number of people allowed on a raft is 2.
• The maximum weight per bamboo raft is 550 lbs (250 kg).
• This excursion is not allowed for guests with limited mobility.
  

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
