Your adventure begins when you meet your English-speaking guide outside your Amber Cove cruise terminal in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. You will arrive at the base camp where your guide will provide you with a helmet and life jacket. There is a guide at each of the Damajagua waterfalls to help you to climb up against the water like a salmon going upstream. Each small waterfall is different; some have natural steps and others have a wooden ladder to make it easier to reach the top. In this Damajagua Park adventure, you will be able to jump and climb a maximum of 7 of the waterfalls.

If climbing the falls is a fun experience, the way back down is a pure blast! Jump from the rocks into the pool or use the natural toboggan-like water slides to get down; the experienced local guides will tell you which is the best option in each case, always considering your safety. This is great fun for young visitors and those young at heart.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and sports sandals or sturdy walking shoes that can get wet. If you do not have proper footwear, you will not be allowed to participate and no refund will be made.
• The park rents water shoes for $2.00 USD on a first-come, first-serve basis.
• Bring sun protection, cash for balance payment, tips, drinks, lunch, shopping, etc.
  
• The drive from the port is approximately 20 minutes each way.
  
• Guided Damajugua climb to falls - approx 2.5 hours up and down.
  
• Optional lunch at the base camp restaurant - around $10.00 USD per person paid directly at the restaurant.

Where we meet

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum participation age is 8 years old.
• A minimum of 6 participants is required to run the excursion.
• Due to the amount of activity, this excursion is not suitable for guests with any type of mobility issues, pregnant guests, or guests with any medical issues that prohibit hiking/climbing.
• The high water level may limit the number of falls that will be visited.
• Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
