Drive your own automatic ATV on various terrains including two beaches and through the countryside. You'll also have the chance to shop for unique souvenirs and enjoy some refreshments.
Start this great Puerto Plata Shore Excursion by meeting with your friendly guide just outside your Amber Cove Puerto Plata cruise ship pier. Climb aboard the comfortable transportation for a short, 5-minute, ride to the ATV Excursion base camp. The base is located at a private, local ranch complete with lush, tropical vegetation, fun trails, and small streams.
Once you arrive, you will be matched up with a Honda 420cc 4X4 ATV. You will be given brief instructions, but these are very simple to drive. In fact, beginners are welcome and there's no license required to drive an ATV on this Shore Excursion. Also, the price is the same for one or two riders - so great for couples. Excursion prices are per ATV.
Once you're on your ATV and strap on your helmet (mandatory), it's time to follow the guide through the ranch, past little houses and farms you'll see in the countryside. You'll ride for about 15 minutes to Teco's Beach and then stop for a quick dip in the ocean if you wish or enjoy the view and a refreshment. The guide will have both bottled water and sodas.
Next, you'll head to another ranch where you can stop and shop, if you'd like, for cigars, cacao, and coffee. You'll have the chance to taste them as well before deciding if you want to buy them. You'll spend about 15 minutes at this location.
Then it will be time to make an optional stop at Martin's gift shop where you can see local handicrafts, stones from the Dominican mines, local clothing styles, and all for purchase if you'd like.
Your Puerto Plata ATV Excursion ends with a 20-minute drive back to the ATV Excursion ranch base and then your guide will take you back to the Amber Cove Puerto Plata cruise ship terminal a 5-minute ride away. Total ATV riding time is approximately 2 hours.
Where we meet
For the Amber Cove Puerto Plata ATV Adventure Excursion, you will meet outside your Amber Cove Cruise Ship Terminal after a 10-15 minute walk. All the necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.
Cancellation
For the Amber Cove Puerto Plata ATV Adventure Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
