Meet your driver/guide just at your Naples cruise port for a quick 40-minute ride in your air-conditioned transportation to your destination. At Pompeii, you will enjoy 2 hours with either a personal or an audio guide, learning all that has been discovered about this magnificent legendary site! 

You will visit the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and buried under ash and pumice. The site was lost until it was uncovered at the turn of the 17th century, and further discoveries were made in the 18th century. The city's artifacts were well-preserved due to low moisture, allowing archaeologists to learn about the city before the eruption.

Today, excavations are no longer permitted because of a moratorium, this was imposed to preserve what remains. Several factors have combined to increase the rate of deterioration, including weather, animals, and tourism. Despite restricted access to several buildings, you will have more than enough to see in your time at the ruins. Time permitting at the end of your time in Pompeii, you will be able to visit a cameo and coral factory to learn about the manufacturing process. 

When your tour comes to an end, your driver will return you to the Naples cruise port.

• Excursion prices are quoted in US dollars.
• The balance must be paid in EUROS only. The total amount in Euros will be shown on your E-Ticket.
• The entrance fee to the Pompeii ruins is not included, please consider an additional 16 Euros per person. This fee may vary. 
• We suggest you have cash (Euros) for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
  
• The visit to Pompeii's ruins is led by a guide with a minimum of 6 people, under this number of guests, audio guides are provided.
• Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
• Spanish and French guides are available upon request. Please leave a note while making your reservation.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
• There is a minimum of 2 people needed per booking.

Where we meet

For this Naples Excursion, you will meet your local driver/guide inside your Naples cruise port. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the transportation.
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
• Entering some of the sites requires specific steps and there are steep curbs in certain areas.

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
