Ancient and modern times blend almost seamlessly on this day-long adventure along the Amalfi Coast! Located on the southern coast of Italy, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most popular destinations in the world. Then explore the ancient city ruins of Pompeii in the shadows of Mount Vesuvius.
When you order, you can choose what size group you want to join - for the most personal and more one-on-one experience, pick the VIP group option with a maximum of 8 adults per group. There is also the option to join a small group with 16 adults maximum or the regular option with 40 adults max.
You will meet your guide outside your Naples cruise terminal to board the air-conditioned transportation. With many stops along the coast of Sorrento for photo opportunities, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape. The Amalfi Coast is a 31-mile (50-kilometer) stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy's Sorrentine Peninsula. It's a popular vacation and sightseeing destination, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages. The coastal road weaves past grand villas, terraced vineyards, and cliffside lemon groves where the liquor Lemoncello is produced. The sea cliffs overhanging the shore are amazing, and the sparkling blue water is so breathtaking that you almost ask yourself if it's real. There are more photo stops in Positano, where you will see the colorful buildings built along the hillside.
It's time for lunch! You will be taken to a nice restaurant near the village of Conca dei Marini to enjoy a delicious lunch that consists of homemade pasta with mozzarella and eggplant sauce, mixed salad, and carrots and olives (lunch may vary since everything is fresh and seasonal products are used). After your stop for lunch, you will head out to Amalfi and have some time to explore, on your own, the beautiful town of Amalfi before making your way to Pompeii. Much of this ancient city was destroyed in 79 AD when Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying the city and the residents in ash. Another site to see is The House of Faun which is the largest and most extraordinary private residence of Pompeii. This is not only a sightseeing adventure, though. Note that the entrance fee is additional.
After your time in Pompeii, your driver will return you to your Naples cruise terminal! You will be talking about this adventure through time for some time to come!
Note: This excursion is NOT private, the price breakdown depends on the group size you want to join. Size may vary slightly as there is a maximum of adults per group; children may be added.
Experience and explore the Amalfi Coast and the amazing ancient city of Pompeii. Enjoy this combo sightseeing day.
