In 79 AD, torrid volcanic ash and pumice raced down the slopes of Mount Vesuvius and engulfed Pompeii wiping out the entire population.

Choose any one of the multiple departures from the cruise terminal for the short 45-minute drive to Pompeii in the comfort of a City Sightseeing Shuttle Bus. While on board you will enjoy a colorful commentary outlining the history and tragedy in five different languages. Once you have arrived there is a 15 euro entrance fee to enter the ruins (fee not included, only euros are accepted). Or add on the entrance fee when you order and save time when you arrive on-site.

Today, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can discover and explore the Amphitheater, Temples of Apollo and Jupiter, the House of Faun, and many other uncovered treasures. When you have completed your exploration time, there are 2 shuttle return trips back to Naples where you can board your ship or continue to explore the city at your leisure and expense. (Local operator will give you information on where to meet and the times.)

Excursion Notes

• The entrance fee to the Pompeii ruins is not included, please consider an additional 15 Euros per person. This fee may vary slightly and is ONLY payable in Euros. Option to add-on when your book (see below).
  
• Entrance tickets to Pompeii can be exchanged at the PRIORITY TICKET OFFICE of Pompeii at the entrance of Porta Marina. If you have any questions, please ask your friendly staff where to go.
• Guided walks through Pompeii can be added on the day of the excursion for an additional cost. Please check directly with the operator.
  
• Please be advised this service is provided by reservation and your ticket IS NOT usable for a different time from the one shown on your booking. You will choose your return time on the day of the excursion.
• If you miss your shuttle back to Naples, there may or may NOT be space on another bus. This is a shuttle transportation service only and is not a guided excursion.
• As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered on men and women.
  
• We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for the entrance fee, refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
• Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
  
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
• You must print and surrender a paper version of the voucher for this activity (showing your voucher on a smartphone is not accepted). No refund will be given to customers without a printed copy of their voucher.

For this Naples Affordable Shuttle to Pompeii Excursion, you will meet your friendly crew after a short walk from your Naples Cruise Port. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Minors 18 years and younger must present proof of identity; in the absence of a document, they will be charged at the adult rate.
  
• Infants must sit on the lap of paying adults or they will be charged a child rate.
• This is not a wheelchair-accessible excursion.
  
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the transportation.
  
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
  
• Seating on the bus is on a first come basis.
  
• Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
  
• As there is no specific end time to the excursion, it is the guest's responsibility to know their ship's scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.
  
• Schedule times might change due to traffic or any other force majeure.
  
• Please consider the Add-on entrance ticket is NOT refundable.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
