Riding on comfortable, air-conditioned transportation you'll see some great sights as you cross 42 bridges to get to one of the most famous islands in the world, Key West. It's a 5-hour trip, so just sit back and relax, take a nap, and take in the sights as you head to the southernmost point in Florida.
When you arrive in Key West, part of this package includes a sightseeing trip on a roomy glass-bottom boat. You'll go to the dock and be welcomed aboard by the captain and crew. This boat is roomy with plenty of seats and even has an air-conditioned cabin. But, it's the state-of-the-art glass bottom that will get your attention. Your experienced captain will go along over the top of America's only living coral reef. You'll have the opportunity to see hundreds of species of marine life such as tropical fish, turtles, sharks, coral, sponges, lobsters, crabs, and more. Your knowledgeable crew will also tell you about what you are seeing as well as explain the need for this healthy ecosystem. They will keep you entertained as you marvel at the beauty of the sea. Your time on the boat will be approximately 2 hours so you can also enjoy the view of Key West from the ocean.
Once you have finished your cruise on the glass bottom boat, you will have about 4 hours to look around Key West. As you can imagine, Key West has lots to do, maybe you'll want to visit the Hemingway Home, one of the area's first major celebrities. See the famous Mallory Square, which is a gathering place for locals. Visit some of the many museums such as the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, the Oldest House Museum, or Ripley's Believe It or Not. Go check out the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory or maybe the Key West Botanical Gardens.
Browse through East Martello Fort and see Robert the Doll. Take a moment of silence at the African American Memorial or the AIDS Memorial. Check out some of the famous and infamous restaurants and bars such as Sloppy Joe's, Hog's Breath Saloon, and Rick's Bar, or maybe try some treats at Kermit's Key Lime Pie Shop! Explore the Key West Lighthouse or the Key West Yacht Club at Garrison Bight Marina. Or relax on the beach - both Smather's and Higg's are popular. Note that entrance fees to the attractions are not included.
When this great day comes to an end, you'll head back to your transportation for the scenic ride back. If you have the chance to experience Key West, why wouldn't you? Be sure to have your camera or phone ready, you're going to see some amazing sights!
