When you arrive in Key West the driver will tell you when and where the meeting point is for your return trip back to Fort Lauderdale. Included in your package is a ride aboard the famous Conch Train that will take you on a loop through town to see the sights. Since the Conch Train is the only scheduled event, the rest of the time is yours to do as you'd like. Check out Mallory Square where the locals gather for shopping during the day and the sunset in the evening. It's a rite of passage in Key West, they all go and watch the sunset each evening. By day, you can find a cafe, sip some coffee, do a bit of your shopping, and maybe do a little people-watching.
There are many museums such as Ripley's, Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum, Shipwreck Treasure, and the Flagler Station Railroad Museum. For nature lovers, there is the Key West Aquarium, Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, and Key West Botanical Gardens. History buffs might enjoy East Martello Fort, the African American Memorial, the AIDS Memorial, or the Dry Tortugas Interruptive Center.
You'll have approximately 4 hours in Key West, don't forget to try a piece of the true key lime pie at Kermit's Key Lime Shop. You can also spend time in one of the famous Key West bars, like Papa Hemingway's favorite Sloppy Joe's, Rick's, Hog's Breath Saloon, and the Green Parrot, and get to know a few of the locals. And the restaurant possibilities are almost endless!
Unfortunately, every day has to come to an end. When the time comes, you'll head back to your transportation for the scenic ride back to Fort Lauderdale.
