A combo of two fun shore excursion activities! Fly across the lush jungle on 8 zip lines and take a horseback ride through the countryside. Top it off with a local lunch!

You'll meet your Taino Bay Puerto Plata shore excursion guide outside your Taino Bay cruise terminal and be driven in air-conditioned comfort to the park, about 20 to 25 minutes away. Enjoy the countryside as you go. At the park, you'll be welcomed and given instructions for your zip line activity. Once in your harness and helmet, you're off on an adrenaline-filled adventure flying over the treetops. The 8 zip lines are ACCT certified and run over 7,900 feet on double galvanized steel cables. They're different heights and lengths with the longest being 2460 feet. Woohoo! There is some hiking and some climbing steps involved so you need to be able to do moderate exercise. The course takes approximately 1.5 hours long. This course doesn't require you to use your gloved hand as a brake either so just enjoy the ride! Fun for all ages and beginners and experts alike.

The second excursion activity is horseback riding which is great for beginners as the horses only walk the trails, and no trotting or galloping is allowed. You'll be assigned a horse that's appropriate for your size and skill level. Riding instructions will be given before you set off so that you can be comfortable and enjoy the ride. You'll follow your guide past local farms and see the crops they grow like mango, sour soup, papaya, lime, orange, and palm trees. They raise cows, pigs, and chickens as well as other livestock. Passing small towns, you can see the local daily life of the Dominicans. The ride is about 45 minutes and all horses take single riders only unless it's a child with a parent (weight restrictions might apply, please review them before you book).

Back at the excursion base camp, you can enjoy local favorites from the delicious buffet. Choose from home-cooked dishes of rice, beans, chicken or beef, fried sweet potatoes and yucca, vegetables, tropical fruits, and more. After your lunch, you can wander the botanical gardens and enjoy the native flora. Bring your camera for some great photo opportunities on this action-filled excursion. Your transportation will return you to your Taino Bay cruise terminal located in downtown Puerto Plata at the end of the shore excursion adventure.

Excursion Notes

• Walking/hiking shoes are mandatory (no high heels, sandals or flip-flops).
• We recommend you to wear comfortable clothes and long pants, bring sun protection, insect repellent, cash for souvenirs, tips, etc.
  
• Children might be paired with a parent/guardian in both activities.
• Lockers are available for rent (depending on the size of the locker, the cost is $4.00 or $5.00 USD per locker).

Where we meet

For this Puerto Plata Taino Bay Zipline and Horseback Riding Excursion with Lunch, you will meet outside your Taino Bay cruise ship terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The maximum weight per participant is 260 lbs (118 kg).
  
• Maximum hip/waist 44in. (110 cm).
  
• Children can ride horseback solo only if they can sit on their own and be confident with the horse and guide. A guide will lead the horse at all times.
• Children may ride with parents only if their combined weight is under 260 lbs (118 kg).
• This Taino Bay Puerto Plata Zipline and Horseback Riding Excursion with Lunch is not allowed for pregnant women or guests with back or neck injuries.
  
• You will be required to sign a liability release and assumption of risk document to participate in the Taino Bay Puerto Plata shore excursion.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
