The fun shore excursion from Nassau Bahamas begins right outside your cruise terminal where the mini-submarine scooter excursion guide and transportation will be waiting for you. The drive to the dive center is about 35 minutes to the western end of the island. The friendly staff will get you checked in and on the boat. The morning boat leaves at 09:30 AM and in the afternoon at 12:30 PM. Please see the pricing for the observer rate for those who just want to watch from the boat.

The site where you will do the SUB Mini Submarines is not far. As you travel to the reef site, the guides will go over the mini-sub, instructions, and safety information. The mini-SUB itself looks like a mechanical seahorse that you sit on. Your head fits under a large observation bubble where the air is pumped in continuously. Small groups will go down together. There is a float attached to the top to control the depth - 10 to15ft is max. You will maneuver around by steering them.

The diver/guide will be beside you the whole time and point out some of the cool marine life swimming around. You will have no problem seeing as the bubble allows panoramic viewing and you may wear prescription glasses or contacts with no problems. Do not forget your underwater camera! There is a professional photographer that will be snapping shots throughout the excursion just in case. They can be viewed at the dive center afterward.

Your drive on the mini-SUB submarine is about 30 minutes. When your group finishes, the guide will lead you back to the boat. You may choose to relax, have a bottle of water or use the snorkel gear that is provided.

Your dive boat will take you back to the dive center where the transportation is waiting to return you to your Nassau cruise terminal. The transportation leaves the dive center with the morning group between 01:00-02:00 PM and the after group between 05:00 - 05:45 PM.

Wetsuits are not included but may be rented at an extra cost of $12.00 USD at the dive shop. The boat has a variety of equipment sizes, with fins available in sizes 3/4 to 11/13 but you may bring your own gear if you would like.

Excursion Notes

• We recommend bringing along sunblock, a swimsuit, a towel, a camera, cash for tips, photos, snacks, etc.
  
• Professional photos are available to purchase - prices range from $5.00 USD and up, depending on the package.
• There is an additional 12% Bahamian tax on the balance amount that needs to be paid to the operator directly.

Where we meet

For this Excursion, you will meet right outside your Nassau Bahamas cruise ship pier terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum participation age is 12 years old.
• All guests under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by paying adult/guardian.
• All guests must complete and pass an extensive medical waiver.
• Guests who are pregnant, those with epilepsy, heart issues, etc. are not permitted on this excursion.
• Minimum age to ride along on the boat as an observer is 4 years old (see observer fee).
• There are no motorized wheelchairs or mobility scooter-accessible vehicles available.
• This Nassau SUB Mini Submarine and Snorkeling Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
