This is a seasonal Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Cruise Excursion; whale watching season is December 15th through April 15th annually.
If one of your ports of call is Cabo San Lucas during the winter months, be sure to do the once-in-a-lifetime whale-watching adventure. This Cabo San Lucas cruise excursion is full of photo opportunities, you never know what Mother Nature will show you!
To start your day on the water, you'll meet your English-speaking boat captain and guide next to your Cabo San Lucas tender dock. Your whale-watching boat is 30' long and comfortably holds 16 to 18 passengers. The smaller groups allow for more personalized service and are comfortable with plenty of seating to get the best views. As you head through the bay and past where your ship is anchored, your captain will tell you about some interesting sights along the way. Pass Pelican Rock, is named for its distinctive shape. Land's End, Lovers Beach, Ventana de Pacifico (window through the rocks), Sea Lion Colony, Neptune's Finger, and situated on the end, is El Arco (the Arch), a distinctive rock formed by natural erosion.
As you continue, the captain will take you left to the Sea of Cortez or right of the Pacific, depending on the day and what has already been spotted that day, to try to find, see and maybe hear the whales. There is a variety of migrating whale species including the most commonly seen Humpbacks and Gray Whales, the occasional Blue plus dolphins, orcas, and a lot more. Once the captain finds the whales, he'll get you as close as unobtrusively possible to not disrupt them. The whales can put on a great display so be ready to capture tail lobs, full-body breeches, mothers with babies, males fighting for a female, and pods swimming together. You're guaranteed to spot a variety of wildlife, so a camera is a must. You might even have the opportunity to listen to them! On any given day, along with the possibility of whales, sea lions, and seals you can see shore and water birds, turtles, dolphins, marlins, and dorados. And make sure you bring your questions! Your boat captain/guide is very experienced in the waters off Cabo and a whale expert!
When your whale watching time comes to an end, your captain will bring you back to the meeting point where you may wander along the marina, hit the downtown shops, restaurants or bars, or just head back the short walk to your ship tender pier.
Don't miss out on this memorable whale-watching adventure when you stop in Cabo San Lucas. You'll see whales, sea lions, dolphins, and a rich variety of sea animals plus the fascinating shoreline on this unique boat shore excursion.
