Add some thrilling adventure to your cruise stop in Belize. Ziplining over the lush jungle at the Nohoch Chen Archeological site and finish your excursion with a delicious local lunch.
You'll meet your knowledgeable guide outside your Belize cruise tender terminal and board a van to travel to the zipline site. On your way through Belize City, you'll learn about the culture and way of life in Belize. The guide will give you the facts and history of many interesting monuments and locations as you pass by. The highlights include the Light House of Belize (Baron Bliss Light House named after one of Belize's most important benefactors), the grave of Baron Bliss ( who left almost two million Belize dollars in trust for the benefit of the citizens of Belize), Memorial Park (dedicated to the soldiers who fought in World War I), Belize Museum which was the Old Prison building, Central Bank of Belize (which safeguards 2 large and important ancient Mayan jade pieces), the Lindbergh Landing and many more.
You'll be traveling out of the city on the first highway constructed in Belize, the western highway. Your guide will tell you about the varied ecosystems you'll pass through and the local communities and how they live. It takes about an hour to reach the Nohoch Chen Archeological site where you can use the restrooms and change rooms before your zip line adventure begins.
The experience zipline guides will go over and take you through the treetops, riding on 8 lines with 12 platforms. The longest line is over 1300 feet and zips through the rainforest and over the Cave Branch River. The highest line is over 200 feet so prepare for some thrills. Safety is of paramount concern, the lines are constructed of 2 cables, a running, and a safety cable and your harness has 7 straps. Only one person zips at a time unless there's a child with an adult. Each platform has a guide to send and one to receive. They'll make sure that safety instructions are followed while also ensuring you are having fun. You'll be given the necessary equipment and instructions before flying off through the jungle.
Now that you've worked up an appetite, you'll return your equipment and head to the Out Post Restaurant to pick up a delicious Belizean local lunch of rice and beans, coleslaw, fried plantain, and chicken stew (a local Belizean Creole dish).
After this amazing adventure excursion, you'll board your transportation once again and drive back to your Belize cruise tender terminal.
Get your blood pumping on this adrenaline-filled zip-line adventure through the rainforest tree tops and treat your taste buds to a delicious local lunch.
