This historical, entertaining, and interactive St. John's shore excursion gives you the opportunity to experience the island's best during your stop in St. John's, Antigua cruise port of call! Enjoy a fun encounter with playful, docile stingrays and visit the best island attractions!

Your Antigua stingray snorkel cruise excursion guide will meet you in a convenient location just a 3-minute walk from your cruise ship pier. You will be assisted in a comfortable and air-conditioned van, to begin the fun journey.

There is a panoramic, 45-minute ride to the open-air museum, Betty's Hope. It exhibits the history and artifacts of the 300-year-old sugar cane distillery that once stood on the grounds. Your excursion guide will provide interesting facts about the crystal sugar manufacturing process and its importance to the island's history and development.

Then you will travel to the fishing village of Seaton, where the shore camp of Stingray City is located. Keep watch for the local wild monkeys and parrots that are commonly around to welcome guests. A specialized stingray excursion guide will provide a brief explanation of the stingrays and the proper ways to approach them. There is nothing to fear...the stingrays have grown up with human interaction and greet visitors in the hope of receiving a fish handout from the guide. They are docile creatures.

There is a short boat ride to the sandbar where dozens of Southern Stingrays await. Some say that these stingrays are the puppy dogs of the ocean and that is because they will greet you rubbing up against your leg and begging for a treat. The qualified Stingray City staff will be in the water with you to help you interact with the stingrays; you can pose with them for funny pictures, swim, and snorkel with them, and may get the chance to feed them. Please bring your waterproof camera!

There is a little more than 1 hour to enjoy the experience. The stingray snorkel excursion staff will provide a snorkel mask and tube if you would like to snorkel as well; the sandbar is surrounded by coral, sponges, and loads of tropical fish. The water level is fairly shallow (approximately 4.5 feet) in most places so guests may stand or climb on the ocean platform in the middle of the sandbar and enjoy the crystal-clear water while soaking up the sun.

After this fantastic encounter, you will get back on the road to head to Devil's Bridge, where the power of the waves against the limestone coast has formed a natural waterway creating many blowholes. It is a spectacular show, the rough Atlantis ocean waves getting into the limestone caves and splashing around. It is the perfect picture background.

Your last shore excursion stop on this St. John's Antigua Stingray Snorkel Interaction and Sightseeing Excursion will be Long Bay Beach, just 10 minutes away. This beautiful beach offers a variety of water sports for rent, and small local stores to purchase souvenirs and handicrafts. Beach chairs and umbrellas are also available for rent. You will be treated to a delicious Antiguan lunch (chicken and vegetables) is included. Guests have approximately 1 hour at this stop.

At the end of your excursion, your shore excursion guide will take you back to your cruise ship terminal in St. John's, Antigua.

The is a must for everyone! Guiliana was our guide and she was right on time. We headed to sting ray city, where I was a little concerned due to the amount of people but once arrived at the dock all worries were displaced. There are so many sting rays you cant help but pet several of them. Guiliana, our guide, was able to get some fantastic pictures with my camera. Definitely take your own camera if you can!!! We then went to a beautiful public beach. Only problem is if you want to sit down you have to pay $15 (for 45 minutes) for beach chairs, which I felt should be included. I was a little miffed at this but certainly did not let it ruin the beautiful view. Lunch was good as well as the sugar mill. All in all a great day and our guide was the best and super prepared.

The best tour of my cruise ship trip

He was looking for a full tour at a lower price than the ones they offer you on the ship. Luckily I discovered this site and found the nicest tour of my entire vacation. The driving was super professional. Bathing with the stingray in their natural habitat is something wonderful, to be lived at least once in a lifetime.

Combo tour, just perfect! This way we did not have to decide if we wanted to go to the beach, sightseeing or snorkeling. It was our first time in St. John and our first time snorkeling with stingrays. It was such an incredible experience and the highlight of my trip. We left with a great first impression of the island and its people. thanks to our guide who was so nice and accommodating, very knowledgeable. the island itself is warming and welcoming.

We were met by our guide, Frederico, as soon as we walked out of the port area, right where he was supposed to be. My wife and I were the only people with our guide, so we had personal attention throughout the excursion. The guide was friendly and shared history about the island as we drove to the various locations. We first went to the Stingray Snorkel location. It is actually run by a separate company, but everything was taken care of by our excursion company. We were pre-briefed on what to expect. Our guide was with us as we snorkeled with the stingrays and even offered to take pictures of us in case we didn’t want to buy the stingray company’s pictures. After the snorkel, we drove to a see a local natural bridge followed by a short stop at a local beach. We had the option to rent chairs/umbrellas and swim while there, but we chose to sit at a local beach bar and enjoy a couple of local beers. After the departure from the beach, we went to a local restaurant for some delicious local cuisine. The food was great! Our shore time was short and following lunch, our guide dropped us back at the cruise terminal. If we had more time, our guide would have taken us by a couple more areas, but he made sure we were back with plenty of time to re-board our ship. Highly recommend this excursion!

The best of our cruise!

As seasoned cruisers, we do not pay the high cruise ship prices for shore excursions anymore so we research for options ahead of time. We saw this listed on Shore Excursioneer. Although we had never used the company, we had friends who had. Booking was easy and fast online, the eticket got to us quickly and meeting the operator in St. John's went smooth. This was by far, not only the best excursion of our cruise but also one of the best we have done...ever. It was such a nice combination of sightseeing by air-conditioned van and a fun boat ride out to the stingrays but also some great snorkeling. My entire family had a wonderful time on this excursion. The operator was professional and also made us feel like family. Bravo to them! And we will most certainly use Shore Excursioneer again when choosing our excursions for our next cruise.
