This great excursion on the lovely island of Cozumel is sure to please everyone in your group! Enjoy both the SNUBA dive and snorkeling afterward at the famous Chankanaab Marine Park. Snuba is similar to real SCUBA diving but you do not have the heavy air tanks strapped to your back with all the equipment. It is easy and safe enough for everyone to do with depths that are much more shallow than SCUBA dives.

Start this great day by hopping aboard a ferry in Playa del Carmen. On your way to Cozumel, you will enjoy 40 minutes of fantastic views while gliding across the Caribbean. The ferry offers both facilities and snacks for your comfort. Consumables are not included in the price. Ride up top and enjoy the ocean breezes, or down in the main cabin with large viewing windows and air conditioning. Once you arrive in Cozumel, simply hail a waiting taxi for Chankanaab! 

As you arrive at Chankanaab Park your friendly English-speaking SNUBA Dive Cruise Excursion guide will show you where the Snuba activity is set up. Please note that the entrance fee to Chankanaab is not included and has to be purchased on-site, the cost per person is $26 USD. This includes use of the facilities such as chairs, hammocks, loungers, shade, showers, and more. There are restaurants where you can purchase food and drinks at your own expense. There are lockers available for rent, should you wish to store your belongings.

The highly trained and certified excursion guides will go over all of the SNUBA Diving equipment you will use for your excursion, show you how to use it, and then get you suited up. Your SNUBA excursion equipment includes a snorkel mask, a regulator that provides your air supply, a weight belt, fins, and a harness for the hose leading from the regulator to your SCUBA air tank floating on the surface.

Your Cozumel SNUBA shore excursion guide will lead your small group to the water. The calm aqua blue and crystal clear ocean water at Cozumel Chankanaab Marine Park makes it an ideal location for this beginner's SNUBA Diving adventure underwater. As you go a little deeper, you will start to feel a little pressure on your ears like flying in a plane, your guide will show you how to equalize pressure most easily so you can fully enjoy this SNUBA excursion in Cozumel. You will continue at your comfort and your pace. Your guide will be beside you the entire way. The maximum depth you will go on this SNUBA dive cruise excursion in Cozumel is just a maximum of 20 feet and your underwater time is approximately 25 minutes.

When you finish your SNUBA Dive, you may choose to stay in the park to experience a variety of other activities at an extra cost. You might decide to get close to Mayan history on the archeological replicas walk or stroll through the lush botanical gardens where you can view more than 350 species of local island plants. Watch the process of handmade tortillas. Check out the tequila displays or maybe even the cacao chocolate site. Off-the-beach snorkeling will take you to Chankanaab Reef, where you can see the underwater Christ and Madonna statues as well as a rich variety of ocean fish - the snorkel gear is included for Sea Trek participants' unlimited use. There is also ziplining for those who are looking for an adrenaline rush. There are also other activities on site available at an extra cost, such as diving, sea trekking, manatee swimming, and dolphin encounters. 

Chankanaab Park hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. When you wish, just grab a waiting taxi back to the ferry dock!

Excursion Notes

• Please download and print the following SNUBA Diving Participant Record (PDF document) and complete it prior to participation. It is required that you bring this completed form and any other required notes or paperwork.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if requirements are not met.
• We suggest you wear a swimsuit and bring sun protection, cash for transportation, photos, entrance fee, tips, food/drink, towel, etc.
• The entrance rate to Chankanaab is $26.00 USD per person (may be subject to change without prior notice). Please bring cash! This gives you access to parking, bathrooms, dressing rooms, showers, hammocks, beach chairs, life vest, underwater statues, inlet swimming area, prehispanic replicas, tropical garden, a tequila experience, agave landscape, Mayan hut and playground for kids.
• There are also other activities on site available to purchase such as diving, snuba, manatee swimming, dolphin encounter, temazcal and natural spa. There are also beach cabañas and lockers for rent. 
• Not available on Sundays

Where we meet

For the SNUBA Dive and Chankanaab Snorkeling Excursion in Cozumel, you will meet directly at the entrance of Chankanaab Park. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum participation age is 8 years old.
• There is no observer price - must pay the regular entrance fee. The reduced entrance fee applies only for booked excursion guests.
• Guests who are pregnant and have other medical issues including recent surgery, heart problems, history of blackouts or stroke, etc may not participate.
• All guests must complete and pass a strict medical waiver. In case a guest is not allowed to participate, a full refund is granted.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
