After meeting outside of your Nassau cruise ship terminal you'll be driven to the dock where you'll board your sailboat. The size of the sailboat you're on will depend on the number of guests booked that day. It could be a 41' boat with a capacity of 12 passengers or a 56' sailboat with a capacity of 26 passengers.

You'll then set sail for the peaceful Rose Island, a privately owned uninhabited island. Your sailing time in total is about 2 to 2.5 hours and you'll have about 1.75 hours to snorkel and enjoy the beach. The snorkel gear is included so just bring your swimsuit and towel. There are 2 options to snorkel. You can go off the sailboat in about 10 to 12' of water or snorkel directly off the beach. Experts and beginners alike will enjoy this thriving shallow reef. The coral reef here is some of the longest on earth. With crystal clear water you'll be able to see the myriad of tropical fish and colorful coral that make this home. If you're not interested in snorkeling or prefer to do it from the beach, there's a tender boat to bring you to the beach without getting you or your things wet.

On your return to Nassau, the crew will be passing around trays of cheese, salami, olive and crackers plus fruit and chocolate snacks. You won't go hungry on this sail but you're welcome to bring along your own snacks or lunch. Complimentary beverages offered for the entire cruise include unlimited fruit punch, iced tea, lemonade and bottled water plus unlimited Rum Punch on the return sail. If these are not to your liking there's also a cash bar where you can purchase sodas and juices for $2.00 USD each and beers, cocktails, wine, and Rum Punch for $5.00 USD to $8.00 USD each.

Excursion Notes

• Bring along towels, swimsuits, sunglasses, hats, etc.
• You may wear your swimsuit under your clothes but there are also 2 restrooms on board, and several cabins, if you would like to change. If you think you don't want to be in your wet swimsuit the whole cruise, then feel free to bring along a change of clothes.
  
• We recommend that you leave valuables at home, or in your hotel or cruise ship safe.
• Cash Bar: In addition to the complimentary drinks there are sodas, beer and some cocktails for sale so you just need to bring along extra cash (no credit cards) for your bar tab. You are not permitted to bring along your own alcohol/drinks. Sodas are $2.00 USD and everything else (beers, cocktails, wine) is $5.00 - $8.00 USD. No alcohol served until snorkeling is completed.
• Additional rentals available: Nikon Coolpix Underwater Camera ($35.00 USD + $100.00 USD security deposit) and several of the newer design full face snorkel masks ($10.00 USD + $70.00 USD security deposit) - these are quite cool, with increased visibility and they allow you to breathe normally (through both your mouth and your nose).
• Additional purchases available: T-shirts - usually modeled quite nicely by your crew  - they are in sizes S-XXXL and are $25.00 USD (white) and $30.00 USD (NEW COLORS: royal blue, turquoise) each.

Where we meet

For this Nassau Half Day Sailing to Rose Island Excursion, you will meet right outside your Nassau Bahamas cruise ship pier terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• All guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by paying adult/guardian participating in the same excursion.
• The minimum age for alcohol consumption is 18 years old.
• Alcohol will only be served after snorkeling is completed.
• Minimum participation age is 2 years old. All children must be attended by parent at all times and may not be left on the boat without their supervision. Snorkel gear typically fits ages 8 years and up.
• Guests must be able to board the boat and move about on the deck. No wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, strollers or the like allowed.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
