Your adventure begins by meeting your knowledgeable guide at the meeting point near your cruise ship terminal, where you’ll be escorted to your comfortable Jeep to begin your ride, choose to drive the Jeep yourself or sit back and relax while your guide takes the wheel, allowing you to fully soak in the atmosphere and scenery! Your first and most important stop: the San Gervasio Mayan Ruins. Once there, step back in time and explore the remnants of a once-thriving Mayan city, dedicated to Ixchel, the goddess of fertility and the moon. This is an ideal stop for those eager to learn about the Mayan culture, deeply connected to science, nature, and their belief in the power of the stars, moon, and sun. Wander through ancient stone structures, hidden temples, and sacred plazas while you immerse yourself in the significance of the site. Feel free to explore the ruins on your own, but if you'd like to dive deeper into the history, certified guides are available for an additional fee of $25 (payable on-site).

Your journey continues to the island’s east side, where you’ll visit "El Mirador," a stunning natural rock formation offering breathtaking views and fantastic photo opportunities. Be sure to capture the moment with plenty of photos. Next, you’ll head to San Martín Beach to enjoy a delicious lunch. You’ll have the option to purchase refreshing drinks to complement your meal. Since this is a private excursion, you can also make changes to the itinerary—just discuss any ideas with your guide upon arrival!

At the end of your adventure, hop back into your Jeep and follow your guide back to the original meeting point, where you’ll be returned safely to your cruise ship. If time permits, feel free to explore Cozumel City at your own leisure.

Excursion Notes

• We recommend guests bring a swimsuit, towel, sun protection, and cash for any balance payments, additional purchases, or tips.
• All drivers must present a valid driver's license. Guests may take turns driving.
• The minimum age to drive is 18 years old.
• Please note that only guides employed at the Mayan Ruins are permitted to guide in San Gervasio.
• While you are free to explore the Mayan ruins on your own, certified guides are available for a deeper experience for an additional fee of $25 (payable on-site).
• Your journey continues to the island’s east side.
• This excursion requires a minimum of 2 guests to operate.

Where we meet

For the Cozumel Private Island Jeep Excursion with San Gervasio Mayan Ruins, you will meet just a short walk from your cruise ship terminal. All essential details will be provided on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Parents must supervise their children at all times.
• This excursion is not suitable for guests with limited mobility (such as those with knee or hip issues, or using walkers, wheelchairs, or mobility scooters).
• The minimum age for alcohol consumption is 18 years old. Guests may be asked to provide proof of age for the tequila tasting.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
