After meeting your driver/guide on the tender pier shoreside, you will depart Villefranche in your exclusive group of no more than eight guests. The charming medieval hill town of St. Paul de Vence, 30 minutes away, is your first stop.

St. Paul de Vence was believed to be occupied since the 10th century AD, its location between Provence and the seaside made it an important market town and desired location by local nobility. For the next 800 years, it had its share of plundering and destruction at the hand of numerous conquerors. Each time the walls were built larger, higher or thicker in hopes to ward off the next attack. In the 1920s, the richness and intensity of the light, colors, and scenery attracted artists, including Signac, Picasso, and Matisse. The movie industry discovered the village in the 1950s as both a filming location and an actor's hideaway. You will have approximately 60 minutes to wander this intriguing maze of pedestrian streets, courtyards, and squares dotted with artists' shops, cafes, and great scenery.

You will depart the hills, for an approximate 30-minute drive to the coast and the popular old town of Antibes. Situated on rocks with water on two sides, it was easy to defend the town from invaders. Your guide will drive you along the ancient walls giving you some of the histories of the town. You will also see Billionaire's Quay, the scenic harbor full of mega luxury yachts and boats. If time and traffic allow, a stop will be made for photos.

Just a short 20-minute drive away is the city of Cannes, where a drive along La Croisette is a must. This main street with the sea and its swanky beach clubs and restaurants on one side and on the other, the gleaming white Belle Epoque buildings housing chic boutiques, cafes, and world-famous hotels such as the InterContinental Carlton Cannes, where a real-life prince met his princess.

There will be a photo stop outside of the Palais des Festivals building, home each May to the Cannes Film Festival. Pose on the same steps as the famous stars do each year! You will then head back for the 40-minute drive return trip to Villefranche and your cruise tender pier.

Excursion Restrictions

• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the van.
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
