If you want your cruise stop to include some excitement, we have the excursion for you in Taino Bay Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Interact with the natural side of Taino Bay meeting their incredible fauna, and fly above the trees for a different perspective on 8 zip lines.

You'll meet your guide after a short 10-minute walk outside of your Taino Bay cruise terminal. You'll be driven to the nearby adventure park in air-conditioned comfort. When you arrive at Adventure Park there will be a meet and greet in the country house bar. Next, you’ll have the opportunity to try and/or purchase authentic coffee, chocolate and/or cigars!

Back at the park, you'll be given instructions and equipment for your adrenaline-rush flight over the treetops. There are 8 ACCT-certified lines and professional guides to make sure you have a safe and thrilling ride. Beginners and experts alike will enjoy it. One unique feature of this circuit is that there is no active braking with gloves like most zip lines. The guides will do that for you so all you have to do is have fun and enjoy the view. There is a handlebar also on the lines for your comfort. Great for small children as they can fly with a guide or parent, no need to miss out.  There is a moderate amount of walking between the lines as well as climbing so please make sure you read over the restrictions and notes before booking. For maximum enjoyment, you set the speed and the guides will move at your pace, approximately 1 to 1.5 hours duration for all the lines.

If you’re still up for more, your expert guides will take you on a short walk through the tropical garden, where you can meet Macaws, Cockatoos, African Greys, Toucans and more!

Back at the country house, you'll be treated to a typical home-cooked Dominican-style lunch of rice, beans, chicken or beef, fried sweet potatoes and yucca, vegetables, tropical fruits, and more. The park has a variety of indigenous animals and birds to see as well.

After this amazing adventure shore excursion, your transportation will return you to your Taino Bay cruise ship terminal.

Excursion Notes

• Walking shoes are required (no high heels, sandals, or flip-flops).
• We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and long pants, bring a swimsuit under your clothes, sun protection, insect repellent, a towel, a change of clothes, cash for souvenirs, tips, etc.
• Lockers are available for rent (depending on the size of the locker, the cost is $4.00 - $5.00 USD per locker).
• Children must be paired with their parents/guardians in some of the activities.

Where we meet

For this Taino Bay Squirrel Monkey Encounter and 8 Zip Lines Excursion, you will meet outside your Taino Bay cruise ship terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Guests will be weighed on-site.
• The maximum weight for the ziplines per participant is 260 lbs (118 kg).
• Maximum hip/waist 44in. (110 cm) and maximum leg size of 31in (80cm) for the zipline.
• Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
• Due to the activity level of this excursion, participants must be in good physical condition.
• This excursion is not suitable for pregnant women or guests with back or neck injuries.
• Please do not apply sun blocker or insect repellent before interacting with the squirrel monkeys.
• Bringing own food into the natural habitat is not allowed.
• Do not wear any loose objects (earrings for example).
• It is mandatory to sanitize your hands and shoes prior entering and exiting the natural habitat (sanitizer will be provided).
• A waiver will be required to sign prior to participation in this Taino Bay shore excursion.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
