Costa Rica is a country of breathtaking plant life and abundant species of birds and other wildlife! This incredible experience will take you back to nature with thrills, as well as serene moments in the rainforest. Zip over the treetops and cruise along the riverbanks!

From your Puerto Caldera cruise pier, enjoy a comfortable ride through the lush countryside. As you make your hour-long trip, your guide will point out the sights of interest such as a variety of plantations, fruit stands, and rural farming communities. Arriving at Carara Adventure Park, a privately-owned reserve covering 80 acres, you will be able to enjoy some free time before beginning your adventure. The views are truly spectacular.

Prepare for a heart-racing zipline experience that will take you across 12 cables, 15 platforms, and 3 hanging bridges! The longest cable is 1,200 feet long, with its highest point being approximately 100 feet and a maximum speed of 30 km/hr. Before you begin, you will receive your Petzl zipline equipment and orientation on the rules and regulations for safety. Then you'll hop aboard an open truck for a ride to the mountaintop! Prepare to zip down. From the first platform, your guide will clip your harness onto the line and then gravity will take you over to the next platform where another guide will unclip you. The process will continue with the rest of your group from platform to platform.

Time for a change of pace! It is only a short drive to Tarcoles River for your eco boat tour. Enjoy nature from the comfort and safety of the boat as you leisurely coast down the river.  The American crocodile makes this area its home, and the waters are abundant with countless species of water birds. You may even get a glimpse of the large iguanas and howler monkeys who inhabit the shoreline. Keep your camera handy! Guests will enjoy complimentary tropical fresh fruits and bottled water.

After this amazing adventure, you will board again your transportation to return to your Puerto Caldera cruise pier.

Excursion Notes

• Walking/hiking shoes are mandatory (no high heels, sandals or flip-flops).
• We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and long pants are suggested, bring sun and bug protection, cash for souvenirs, tips, etc.

Where we meet

For this Puerto Caldera Zipline Canopy Adventure and Boat Safari Excursion, you will meet right at your Puerto Caldera cruise ship pier and gangway, all necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The minimum participation age is 5 years old.
• Maximum hip/waist 52in (132 cm).
• In order to get to the first platform, guests must be able to climb a ladder with 20 steps.
• Due to the activity level of this excursion, participants must be in good physical condition.
• This excursion is not allowed for pregnant women or guests with limited mobility or leg/knee/back/neck injuries.
• This excursion is not wheelchair accessible or friendly.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
