You'll be heading to Villa Lapas Reserve & Eco Hotel, about a 1-hour drive from the pier. Upon arrival at our beautiful property, you'll have some free time to use the restrooms and explore the surroundings before beginning the rainforest nature walk and enjoying the Hanging Bridges.
Experience the beauty of the rainforest on our Villa Lapas Sky Way walking tour, which is 1.5 miles (2.5 km) long and features 3 suspended bridges, each more than 180 feet above the ground. These bridges, spanning an impressive 300 feet, cross through the heart of the tropical rainforest. This all-ages tour allows you to observe both primary and secondary rainforest vegetation. Immerse yourself in the jungle and keep an eye out for the numerous bird species, mammals, and other diverse fauna that call this forest home.
The nature walk lasts about one hour and includes areas with steep, uneven terrain, ups, and downs, requiring a moderate level of physical fitness.
After exploring this tropical ecosystem, enjoy complimentary fresh tropical fruits and iced tea before continuing your journey to the Tarcoles River. Known for its large American crocodiles, the Tarcoles River forms the northern border of Carara Biological Reserve on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast. The Tarcoles River is home to one of the world's largest wild crocodile populations, making them easy to spot during our one-hour boat tour. In addition to crocodiles, you’ll also have the chance to see various aquatic bird species, monkeys, and scarlet macaws.
After the tour, you'll return to the pier. Upon arrival, you can choose to stay in the city or head directly back to the ship. If you're interested in exploring the boulevards, the pier is conveniently located in the city, just a short distance from your ship, ensuring an easy return.
Experience walking through the treetops on the Sky Walk suspension bridges in the jungle and Costa Rica rainforest, then relax and enjoy some great shopping opportunities!
