Your horseback riding cruise excursion begins right from the cruise pier in Ocho Rios where your guide and transportation are waiting for you. The drive is scenic and the travel time is not long.
When you get to the stables, your friendly horseback riding guide will match you up with one of the 30 horses according to your riding abilities. Then the guide will lead the group down the countryside trails and scenic farmlands. You will get both entertaining and informational facts, and interesting stories about Jamaica such as the background of the abandoned airstrip you will ride by, which was built during WW2 and later used by marijuana smugglers.
The paths and trails will lead you to the northern shoreline to a beautiful private beach area. This is where the legendary swimming horse ride takes place. If you want, you may join the guides for a bareback horse ride into the water where the horses will swim with you onboard! There will be time to relax, enjoy the gorgeous white sandy beach, and a cold drink in this picture-perfect setting.
Your transportation will take you back to your Ocho Rios pier at the end of this Ocho Rios Horseback Riding Shore Excursion.
Travel time from your pier to the site is included in the overall excursion length: 20 minutes from Falmouth, 45 minutes from Montego Bay, and 40 minutes from Ocho Rios each way. If there are fewer than 4 participants in the departure group, transportation is $20.00usd R/T p/p; if 4 or more participants then the RT transportation cost is included in the price.
Maximum guest weight is 240# (108Kg). Guests will be weighed on-site. Those who are overweight will not be allowed to participate on the horseback ride and will lose the deposit paid. Those guests may choose to wait on the beach for an additional charge of $25.00 USD. All others in the group must give 48 hours prior notice to cancel and must pay the balance.
Where we meet
For this Ocho Rios Horseback Riding and Ocean Swimming Cruise Excursion, you will meet just outside your cruise terminal in Jamaica. All specific information will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket. If there are fewer than 4 participants in the departure group, transportation is $20.00usd R/T p/p; if 4 or more participants then the RT transportation cost is included in the price.
Cancellation
For the Ocho Rios Horseback Riding and Ocean Swim Excursion at Private Beach, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
