This excursion will take you back in time to a period of exquisite architecture and opulent life! Travel by shuttle to the Royal Palace and UNESCO World Heritage Site that is also known as Reggia di Caserta. With the low affordable price, you can bring the whole group!

After you meet your friendly crew close to your Naples cruise port, you will board your comfortable shuttle to the Royal Palace – this is only a shuttle service, not a guided excursion.

The palace was initially built by Luigi Vanvitelli for Charles VII of Bourbon, King of Naples and Sicily. Although construction began in the mid-18th century, it was not completed until the following century. Interestingly, Charles never occupied the palace as he abdicated in 1759 to become King of Spain. It was his third son, Ferdinand IV, who was the first occupant.

The Reggia di Caserta is one of the largest erected in Europe during the time, consisting of five floors, and 1200 rooms, including 24 state apartments, a large library, and a theater. The entire palace is tremendous in size, occupying more than 2.5 million square feet (47,000 square meters)! There are a total of 34 staircases providing access to the upper floors! As if the stunning architecture were not enough to instill a sense of awe, the Royal Palace houses one of the most significant collections of contemporary art in the world, including pieces by Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and many other artists! You will not want to skip the botanical garden, "The English Garden" which has beautiful water features including five stunning fountains!

Your shuttle will depart from Reggia di Caserta at 02:30 PM and it will return you to the original meeting point close to your Naples cruise port after a full day of historical sightseeing in one of the most incredible palaces in Europe. Be sure you wear some comfortable shoes!

• Entrance fee to Reggia di Caserta is not included, please consider an additional 12 Euros per person (regular wait in line price) or 14 Euros for the Skip the Line price if you want to visit the Palace and Gardens and 9 Euros if you only want to visit the Palace. This fee may vary slightly - adult price estimates.
  
• Please be advised this service is provided by reservation and your ticket IS NOT usable for a different time from the shown on your booking. You will choose your return time on the day of the excursion.
  
• As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered on men and women.
  
• We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for entrance fees, refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
• Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
  
• Please pay attention to restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if shore excursion requirements are not met.
  
• YOU WILL RECEIVE A VOUCHER IN A SEPARATE EMAIL. YOU MUST BRING A PRINTED COPY OF THE VOUCHER TO BOARD THE BUS. DO NOT GIVE THEM OUR ETICKET!
  
• You must print and surrender a paper version of the voucher for this activity (showing your voucher on a smartphone is not accepted). No refund will be given to customers without a printed copy of their voucher.

Where we meet

For this Naples Shuttle to Royal Palace Reggia di Caserta Excursion, you will meet your friendly crew at Piazza Municipio (Largo Castello) after a 7-10 minute walk (0.3 mi / 500 meters distance) or 20-minute taxi ride from your Naples Cruise Port. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Minors 18 years and younger must present proof of identity; in the absence of a document, they will be charged at the adult rate.
  
• Infants must sit on paying adults lap or will be charged child rate.
• Guests must be able to step in and out of the transportation.
  
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
• Seating on the bus is on a first come basis.
  
• Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
  
• As there is no specific end time to the excursion, it is the guest's responsibility to know their ships scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
