You will meet your Juneau Salmon Bake shore excursion staff and transfer bus right on the Juneau cruise pier. Just a short drive away is one of Juneau's best traditions, the Gold Creek Salmon Bake. The excursion site for your salmon bake is outdoors sitting right along the creek and has covered as well as open-air seating. Listen to Alaska-style folk music while you dine under the trees or beneath translucent, heated domes shielding you from the elements.

Here you will savor the original Alaskan-caught wild salmon as you never have before. Barbecued over an open alder wood fire and served with a tasty secret sauce, it will be hard to eat salmon when you go home without comparing. The Alaska wild salmon is accompanied by chicken parmesan, cheesy au gratin potatoes, baked beans with reindeer sausage, wild-rice pilaf, a variety of salads, cornbread, lemonade, coffee, tea, hot apple cider, hot chocolate as well as blueberry cake for dessert. Vegetarian or gluten-free? There's plenty to tempt your palate! Beer, wine, and soda are available for purchase onsite.

After your salmon bake meal, take a stroll through the Alaskan woods to relax and make room for roasted marshmallows over the campfire. Take the short walk along Salmon Creek, a salmon spawning stream in late summer, to a waterfall where you can also explore a few remnants of the historic Wagner Mine. If the mood hits you, try your hand at gold panning with the included pans you will find down by the creek. Any gold you find is yours to keep!

Buses returning to the Juneau cruise ship pier depart regularly so whenever you are ready, just make your way out to the bus stop and get on the next bus back to the pier (transportation cost included).

• There is a gravel path from the parking area to the salmon bake.

Where we meet

For this Juneau Gold Creek Salmon Bake Cruise Excursion, you will meet your local shore excursion staff right in the Juneau cruise pier area. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
• Children ages 13-17 must have a signed parental consent form to participate in this excursion in the absence of a parent or guardian.

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
