Sightseeing, food, and drink! This is the one you have heard about! If you're a foodie you don't want to miss this Juneau Food Tasting Walking Excursion. You'll sample 9 local delicacies as you stroll from stop to stop, learning and eating along the way!

You will meet your guide in downtown Juneau to start your tasty excursion and after a short introduction to the excursion, you'll be off to your tasting locations with dishes like King crab bisque, wild Alaska salmon, kelp salsa, and even locally crafted beer and delicious wine. As you go from stop to stop, you will stroll along the sidewalks of this quaint small town and learn the area's history and culture. The food is equally as amazing as the colorful history and culture of this special city. For guests ages 12-20 and those who would rather, iced tea or a soft drink is available in lieu of the wine and beer tasting.  A bottle of water will also be provided in each excursion participant's bag

Each guest will receive a reusable shopping bag filled with local recipes, additional goodies, and about $50.00 USD in coupons from local retailers to use while on your excursion.

There are eight tasting locations, including beer tasting. Please note some of the treats may vary since everything is fresh and upon availability.

You might even be lucky enough to be welcomed by Juneau's official canine greeter – Patsy Ann! Pass the Walter Soboleff Center where Native people tell the Native story. You might like to return to visit an authentic clan house, hear an ancient story, and explore their exhibits.

Be sure to take advantage of your coupons for treats to take back to the ship. This tasty adventure will make you want to return to Alaska for more. At the end of your excursion, you can ask your guide the directions to return to your Juneau cruise port or continue exploring at your own expense and leisure.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest you wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers.
  
• Bring along your camera and cash for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
  
• Additional food and beverage items can be purchased at your own expense at the different excursion stops.
  
• The local operator will try their best to work within your food allergies or restrictions. Seafood and shellfish are served on this excursion, as are meats and cheeses. If you have any dietary restrictions, please leave a note while doing your booking.
  
• This excursion is only available from April 28 through October 1st.

Where we meet

For this Juneau Food Tasting Walking Excursion, you will meet your local excursion guide at a convenient point close to your Juneau cruise pier area. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• The excursion requires approximately 1.2 miles (2 km) of walking.
  
• Minors under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  
• This excursion is wheelchair accessible, however, there is a small incline mid-way.
  
• Drinking age is a minimum of 21 years.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
