Spend your day in Belize snorkeling with turtles at Silk Cayes on the spectacular Belize barrier reef.
You'll meet your guide at the Placencia tender port after your tender shuttle boat ride from your Harvest Caye dock. You will get signed in, given a safety briefing, excursion instructions along with your snorkel gear. Then the fun begins with an hour boat ride to the barrier reef and Silk Cayes located about 25 miles from the tender dock. Once there you'll have a 90% chance of snorkeling with giant loggerhead turtles. The reef is thriving because it's protected and is home to a rich variety of marine life like colorful fish, docile nurse sharks, southern stingrays, Caribbean rough tail stingrays, and eagle rays.
At sea, your guide will give you instructions and start your snorkel with the reef's exotic creatures. This is a private guided excursion so don't worry about getting lost or left behind. You can stay with the turtles, rays and nurse sharks or go with a guide to see the coral of the reef and return to the boat when you're ready. Depending on weather conditions, you'll have about 1 - 1.5 hours in the water. Once you have finished your snorkel, you'll be served some seasonal fruit snacks and a delicious Rum Punch. There are lots, so enjoy!
When everyone is finished snorkeling, you'll take the boat ride back to Placencia Municipal Dock where you can catch the ferry back to Harvest Caye cruise terminal. Please note that ferry tickets are not included in the price.
Where we meet
For this Harvest Caye Private Snorkel with Turtles at the Silk Cayes Adventure Excursion, you will meet outside your tender pier on the mainland. The round trip tender ticket to take guests ashore from the island to the mainland is NOT included, the cost is $29.00 USD per person. All necessary information needed will be printed in your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.
Cancellation
For the Harvest Caye Private Snorkel with Turtles at the Silk Cayes Adventure Excursion,we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if:
- You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
- Your ship misses/skips the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
- Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
