Your exciting adventure begins when you meet your guide at the Placencia tender port after taking your tender from the Harvest Caye dock. Please note you will need to book your tender tickets directly onboard your cruise, the approximate cost is $29 US not included in the price of the excursion.
Once you meet your guide, and you'll be all checked in, get ready to enjoy this private snorkeling experience at the Silk Cayes, also known as the Queen Cayes, three small islands located near the Belize Barrier Reef, part of the Gladden Spit Silk Cayes Marine Reserve. You'll receive a safety briefing, excursion instructions, and your snorkel gear. Then, just sit back and enjoy a scenic one-hour boat ride to the Silk Cayes, which are about 25 miles from the tender dock.
You will have the chance to snorkel around these islands, with one reserved for nesting birds, another nearly eroded, and the third being the perfect base for your adventure. Explore the Silk Caye snorkeling through its beautiful waters for about an hour before continuing to Turtle Alley, where you will be able to swim alongside the astonishing marine life such as colorful fish, Loggerhead Turtles, gentle Nurse Sharks, Stingrays, and Eagle Rays, attracted by scraps from fishermen nearby!
Your private guided excursion will make sure you feel comfortable and you won't get lost or left behind. Please feel free to ask for assistance in case you need it during your snorkeling time. Do not forget to enjoy some seasonal fruit snacks and a refreshing Rum Punch after your exciting adventure and relax feeling the sun on your skin and the sand on your toes!
Once everyone in your party has finished snorkeling, your friendly guide will take you back to the boat for your ride back to the Placencia Municipal Dock to catch the ferry back to the Harvest Caye cruise terminal.
Please consider the tendering service runs between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, please plan your day accordingly.
Where we meet
For this Harvest Caye Private Snorkel with Turtles at the Silk Cayes Adventure Excursion, you will meet outside your tender pier on the mainland. The round trip tender ticket to take guests ashore from the island to the mainland is NOT included, the cost is $29.00 USD per person. All necessary information needed will be printed in your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.
Cancellation
For the Harvest Caye Private Snorkel with Turtles at the Silk Cayes Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
