Meeting your Whale Watch Excursion crew is just a few minutes' walk from your cruise terminal in Grand Turk to where the captain and boat are waiting. This is not a big, slow boat shore excursion, crowded with a lot of other cruise ship-sponsored shore excursion passengers - you will board your single hull whale watching excursion boat with a maximum of only 16 other passengers. The boat is open for great 360-degree viewing and there is lots of comfortable seating. Your English-speaking, experienced captain will also serve as your whale-watching guide.
You will board the whale-watching boat and head out in search of the migrating whales visiting the waters off Grand Turk. This area of the Caribbean is where the humpback whales that travel from the New England coast come to spend the winter. The area around Turks and Caicos is where the humpback whales come to breed and give birth. Even if you have seen whales in Alaska where the whales are feeding, this is different. The whales have a completely different type of behavior as they "show off" and play the dating game.
Once a whale is spotted, the whale watch excursion captain will get you there quickly and quietly so as not to disturb the whales. Keep those cameras handy because they might just have a show in store for you. Pods together, males battling over the same female, mothers with babies, full-body breeches...you never know what you will see. Bottled water is included. Please take precautions with your electronics on the boat as there may be some spray.

Where we meet
For this Grand Turk Up-Close Whale Watching Cruise Excursion, you will meet at a convenient location, right next to your Grand Turk cruise ship pier. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.
Cancellation
For the Grand Turk Up-Close Whale Watching Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
