Your day will begin right after you disembark from your cruise ship terminal. Your friendly excursion staff will be waiting for you to take you to your transportation! The Mud Vulcano is located about 30 miles from the city of Cartagena, so get ready and enjoy your comfortable 45-60-minute ride to get there! Once you arrive at the Mud Vulcano area, please follow your guide's instructions as you will have to climb some stairs to get inside!
This is one of the best ecological excursions in Cartagena but is also a community experience. Where people usually go to take a recharging mud bath and enjoy de healing properties of the natural mud while they do a relaxing massage! The Mud vulcano has an approximate depth of about 6.100 feet but due to the density of the mud it is impossible to sink in (similar to the Dead Sea), so no worries at all! This mud, according to research by the University of Cartagena (the city’s public university), is made up of the following minerals: water, silica, aluminum, magnesium, sodium chloride, Calcium, sulfur, iron, and phosphate, which is why is very popular!
When you are ready to leave the mud volcano bath, you will have to rinse and take all the mud off so there is a beautiful lagoon behind the volcano, where some ladies will help you bath with a bowl pouring water on you and rubbing your hands, legs and others to help you remove the mud, sometimes they also help you to wash your clothes, so be ready to be spoiled.
Once your day in Cartagena comes to an end and your skin has soaked all the mineral benefits of the natural Mud, you will go back to your transportation for a smooth ride to your cruise ship terminal.

Cancellation
For the Cartagena Volcano Mud Bath Spa Experience Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
