You'll have a choice of beaches when you stop at Bonaire for the day. Enjoy the islands turquoise ocean and sandy beaches at one of six fabulous locations.
You'll meet outside of your Bonaire cruise ship port and be taken to one of six beach options that you chose. Your excursion only includes transportation, any extra activity, additional entrance fees or food and drinks can be purchased at some sites at your own expense.
Sorobon Beach is located on the eastern shore, approximately 15 - 20 minutes ride from the cruise terminal. Its calm shallow waters protected by the offshore reef make it perfect for sunbathing and taking a refreshing dip in the ocean. The near continual sunshine and steady trade winds make it the perfect location for windsurfing. The beach has several free shaded areas and along the beach, you can find restaurants and bars where you can rent chairs and purchase food and drinks (at your own expense).
If a little climb isn't intimidating, you can choose 1000 Steps Beach, about 15 - 20 minutes from the cruise port. The cove is surrounded by limestone cliffs and you'll need to descend and later ascend 67 (not the 1000 of the name) limestone stairs to get there. The beach has soft white sand and bleached bits of coral and is popular with divers and snorkelers. You're likely to see turtles swimming in the shallow waters offshore. This beach has no facilities.
If you prefer a beach with all the amenities you can choose Eden Beach (10-minute ride). Here you can purchase food, drinks and enjoy the entertainment at the Spice Beach Club. You can relax on the white sandy beach on a lounger (for a small fee) under a palm tree, have your drinks served to you there, enjoy the Caribbean music, sign up for a dive or water sports (at an extra cost). The snorkeling is great here and you'll see a variety of tame fish and fantastic shapes and colors of coral.
Coco Beach is at the now-public beach of the Sunset Beach Resort, located only 5 - 10 minutes from the cruise port. Enjoy the tropical breezes on the powdery white sand by the sparkling ocean. Take in some shade under a palm tree and let your mind drift. There are comfortable beach chairs for rental to take down to the beach, spread out your towel or rent a day bed to relax on. Bring your gear and snorkel on the Bari Reef nearby with its 300 species of colorful tropical fish. If you'd prefer a little activity in the day you can join a beach volleyball. You can purchase fresh local food and ice-cold drinks at the Coco Beach Bar.
If you love to watch planes arrive and depart you can choose Te Amo Beach near the airport (5-minute ride). The sandy beach gently slopes into the ocean and this is a great place to snorkel offshore. You'll see a wide variety of fish and interesting corals here without going too deep. There are shady trees to relax under and if you're feeling like a snack the Kite City food truck will be around to provide that and some tropical tunes. No facilities are available at this beach.
Or if you prefer a more private beach but still close to the cruise port (5 - 10 minutes ride) then Bachelor's Beach is for you. This small sandy beach sits at the bottom of a small cliff with stairs to the sand. Easy entry to the water and an ideal place to snorkel or swim. No facilities are available at this beach.
You can choose one of these 6 Caribbean beaches to relax and enjoy for the day. You'll let your driver know when to pick you up so you can return your Bonaire cruise port. NOTE: It is the guest's responsibility to know the all aboard time for their ship and factor in travel time. The driver follows your direction on time.
