Barbados is an Island of great beauty and diversity. Your route begins along the Southern Coast -through the capital city, Bridgetown. As you are passing through, your guide will point out some of the highlights. Your first stop will be Garrison, the first British-built garrison, which was in the West Indies at St. Ann's Fort in 1705. You will head up the road past Accra Beach and the town of Oistins. Oistins is a major fishing town but has its old island quaintness.
This excursion is packed full of photo opportunities at each turn. Your route will then lead through Miami Beach and Foul Bay Beach - both unspoiled local beaches that rarely see tourists. You will get to try some of the freshly made fish cake and coconut punch that is complimentary.
Just past Foul Bay, is Codrington College. Codrington College was built in 1715 and is the oldest Theological College in the western hemisphere. Just up the hill from Codrington College is your next stop, St John's Church. It is a classic Gothic-style church that was rebuilt in 1831 and has a very rich history.
This Barbados sightseeing excursion now leads to the windblown East side of the island where you will see the rugged, rocky beaches of Bathsheba and Soup Bowl. Giant rocks lie in the crashing surf making for a spectacular sight. You will be able to spot the Morgan Lewis Windmill a short distance away.
After a morning of beauty, it will be time to taste the flavor of Barbados with local cuisine served up at our lunch stop. You will have a typical Bajan lunch and a drink at Animal Flower Cave restaurant at the northern point of the island.
The journey goes to North Point where grassy fields lead to dramatic, rocky slopes and foamy blue water with crashing waves below. You will have a photo and refreshment break at North Point. You will travel to Speightstown, also known as Little Bristol. This is the second largest city in Barbados and dates back to the 1600s.
Holetown is the last stop on your round in beautiful Barbados. This was the site where England claimed the island in 1625. Until 1629, it was the island's only town. There will be numerous stops to stretch, take photos, browse and explore.
Your journey will end as the guide drops you off at your Barbados cruise terminal where you started.
See many of the major island sights and highlights when you go coast to coast on this Beautiful Barbados excursion. Lunch is included too!
