Your St. Petersburg cruise excursion guide will be with you every step of the way and will inform, explain and show you the rich wonders of St. Petersburg. With your licensed guide leading the group, you will explore the city along with its highlights and famous sights.

Day 1
Begins with a motor coach city tour of St. Petersburg with photo stops covering all the main highlights of the city - times are approximate. Starting from the cruise terminal, you will drive along Nevsky Prospect, the busiest street in the city. See the former palaces and houses of noble families. Your professional guide will tell the myths and facts of Saint Petersburg and talk about the history and everyday life too. Note that all timings are approximate.

Next is a scenic ride to Peterhof - the world's capital of fountains or the Versailles of the North. Take a walking tour of the Royal Gardens. See over 100 fountains that make a walk here peaceful and relaxing. The view from the lower garden to the Grand Palace is one of the most spectacular views in the city. See the famous fountain of St. Sampson.

Next is a traditional-style Russian lunch that is included with your excursion. You will then travel 20km (12.5 miles) to Tzar's Village and see Catherine Palace built for Catherine the Great, walk through the Amber Room and see the doors inlaid with gold. Pure opulence!

On your way back to the city you will have a peek at the Metro system (underground subway) with its elaborate interior and architecture. Then it is on for a stop at St. Isaac Cathedral, known as a masterpiece of 19th-century architecture.

The last stop of day 1 is the Church of Spilled Blood (Church of the Resurrection) with its 7,000 square meters of mosaic-covered walls. Your guide will escort you back to your cruise ship and be waiting for you the next morning to continue the exploration.

Day 2
Start with a boat ride down the canals where you will view the city from a different perspective! Your first stop will be the Hermitage Museum. Ranked among the top 5 in the world, the collection is so large that only 13% is on display at a time and you will get to see some of the sumptuous examples of the Romanov Dynasty and the cream of the collection. You will stop for lunch before heading to your next stop.

As day 2 comes to a close, your Russia sightseeing shore excursion guide will drop you off at your ship's gangway with plenty of time before your ship leaves port.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest comfortable footwear and clothing.
  
• Please bring your camera (your guide will tell you where photos are not allowed or if there is a fee), cash for shopping purchases or extra food/beverages, gratuity for the tour guide and driver (customary is 15%), sun protection and/or light jacket, your passport and special visa which will be emailed to you, and a great sense of adventure.
  
• The actual order of activities may vary slightly depending on venue closures, traffic, etc.
• Do expect traffic and crowds.
• Shoulders and knees must be covered in all religious venues such as cathedrals.
• Shore Excursioneer will need the passport information from each participant which will be forwarded to the operator to obtain your visas. After booking this excursion you will be redirected to our "Additional Info" page where the operator requires Passport information from each participant booked. The operator will send us your visas and we will forward them to you. Your visa from the operator and your valid passport must be presented to Russian officials and are required in order to get off the ship in St. Petersburg. Also note, that your passport needs to have a minimum of 6 months validity left (does not expire within 6 months of your stop in Russia) and a minimum of 2 blank pages for your Russian entry stamps.

Where we meet

Excursion Restrictions

• This excursion involves a considerable amount of walking and is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
• The streets of St. Petersburg are not suitable for guests in wheelchairs or families with strollers due to uneven surfaces.
• Families with children need to take into account the duration and level of activity of this excursion.

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
