You will meet your scuba diving guide and instructor at the local dive shop just a short ride from your cruise ship's pier. See the note below about transportation. You will get checked in and your gear sorted out before heading out to the boat.

Your certified PADI divemaster/ instructor will go over the dive plan with your group. They keep the group sizes small (max of 5 diving, overall onboard max 8) to provide a more personal service. The boats are fast and will get you to the first reef stop quickly. Note that this excursion is for certified divers only - you must present your valid dive card. On your dive, sightings of eagle rays, green sea turtles, nurse sharks, lobsters, and much more are very common. See some of the best coral reefs and marine life around.

Your 2-tank dive is approximately 4 hours. Any others traveling with you that do not dive - can enjoy the restaurant/bar, water toys, etc. The cost of meals/beverages for them is not included.

A local transportation company is used for pickup at the pier for this excursion. Cost is not included but is equal to taxi cost but will provide a more reliable service - $16.00 USD minimum of two guests paying.

Note: Recreational scuba diving and freediving requires good physical and mental health. There are a few medical conditions that can be hazardous while diving, listed below. Those who have, or are predisposed to, any of these conditions, should be evaluated by a physician. What is included?

• Transportation cost is not included in this excursion, however, we use a private transportation company at the same cost as a local taxi however we can guarantee the availability and quality of the transportation (20-minute ride). The cost is $16.00 USD round trip per person and needs to be paid in cash.
• All necessary equipment including classroom kit, snorkel equipment with mask, snorkel, and fins, BCD (inflatable diving jacket), wet suit, weights, belt, regulator, and tank. If you have your own equipment, please feel free to bring it.
  
• Bottled water throughout the Discover Scuba Diving Excursion.
• Boats are equipped with a First Aid Kit and Oxygen Kit.
• Note that there is a $3.00 USD Marine Park fee that is paid in cash to the operator (not included in the excursion price).

• Please download and print the following PADI SCUBA Dive Medical Statement (PDF document) and complete it prior to participation. It is required that you bring this completed form and any other required notes or paperwork.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
• Additional departure times are subject to availability, please contact us.
• Please bring along sunblock, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, and cash for souvenirs, snacks, tips, transportation, etc.
• For your ride back to the cruise terminal, you may decide to drop off at a local beach, town, etc.
• The 2 Tank SCUBA Diving lasts 4 hours.
• There is a $3.00 USD Marine Park Fee that must be paid, per person, to the operator.

Where we meet

For this St. Maarten Discover SCUBA Diving with Boat Dive Excursion, you will meet directly at your cruise terminal for private transportation to the SCUBA Dive Center. Transportation cost ($14.00 round trip per person) is not included in the price and has to be paid in cash upon arrival. The price is the same for a public taxi, with our transportation we guarantee availability and quality of service. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Guests must be in good health.
• Diving is subject to health restrictions, it is not recommended for guests with diabetes, asthma, heart problems, and women during pregnancy.
• We recommend asking your doctor if SCUBA diving is right for you. Your local operator will go over these details with you as well.
• The minimum participation age is 10 years old.
• Children must be accompanied by a participating adult or guardian.
• Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs may not be able to participate and no refund will be granted in this situation.
• Each participant must present a diver's logbook stamped showing the dive within the past year required and a valid dive card in hand.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
