Walk the fine line between folklore and gold fever. The Liarsville Camp, near Skagway, was originally named after journalists who came here during the Klondike Gold Rush and cooked up all kinds of tall tales. Today, you can enjoy a fascinating history lesson, a delicious feast, and the opportunity to discover some gold - which, by the way, has been here all along.
Upon meeting your round-trip transfer outside your Skagway cruise port, an all-you-can-eat mouth-watering assortment of warm and cold dishes awaits your arrival in Skagway. Here you will feast on Alaskan-caught wild salmon grilled over an open alder wood fire as part of this outdoor feast at Liarsville. Enjoy a variety of other Alaskan entrees, salads, and sides including Chilkoot Chicken, Panners, Pasta, and Prospector Pete's Reindeer Beans, plus cornbread and blueberry cake for dessert; all while being entertained with live music. While beverages such as coffee, soft drinks, orange juice, and water are included, beer and wine are available for purchase.
In addition to this delicious meal, you will visit an 1898 replica campsite which is located in the historic Liarsville region. Though you are partaking in all the modern conveniences and menu items from our century, take the time to reflect on how the prospectors of yesteryear survived. Converse with the vibrant characters and enterprising women as you experience a glimpse of life during the Klondike gold rush. Lastly, don't forget to visit the Fancy Good Gift Shop to find that special souvenir.
After your excursion, you will return to your Skagway port where you can continue to explore at your leisure and own expense.
