You'll be able to see some of the best views of Puerto Rico in the golden light of the setting sun. Then watch as the views transform from a historical perspective into a view of twinkling lights as you head back to the dock 2 hours later.
You will depart from your Old San Juan cruise port area and be greeted by your English-speaking crew at the beautiful Amazing Grace; a schooner which is a type of sailing boat that has 2 or more masts. You'll have plenty of time to relax and plenty of room to spread out and move about on the 83-foot schooner as the friendly crew serves Pina Coladas, Rum Punch, sodas, iced tea, and juices. There will be light snacks as well such as crackers and cheese plate and a vegetable plate with a delicious dip.
But, more importantly, you will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the best of San Juan's historical buildings seen from the harbor. One of the highlights is La Fortaleza, the current Governor's Mansion (built in 1533) and designated a World Heritage Site in 1983. You'll also see the Fuerte San Felipe del Morro, a 16th-century Spanish military fort along with its lighthouse.
There are many other sights to see while you cruise along in the light of the setting sun. There's the Paseo de la Princesa, which is an esplanade just outside the city walls noted for its antique street lights that you'll be able to enjoy on this cruise. The pathway is also lined with trees and benches that end at the gorgeous Ra'ces Fountain. Look for the rather large red door that was the entry into the walled city - the San Juan Gate. Your crew can give you brief details about the sites while serving you drinks.
As the sun is setting you can watch as the lively city turns into a softly lit, romantic town. Your sailing time is 2 hours, for you to enjoy the sites, colors, and flavors of San Juan. Your experienced captain will make sure that your sailing experience is as smooth as can be. When the cruise comes to an end, you will be returned to the dock meeting location a short distance from your San Juan cruise ship pier.
