Surfing is a multibillion-dollar industry, with its enthusiasts viewing it as a spiritual connection with the ocean. Have you ever thought about or even dreamed of learning to surf? Well, dream no more – make it a reality with this unique Port Canaveral experience.
Meet your guide outside your Port Canaveral cruise terminal for a ride to Cocoa Beach. Home to the largest charity surfing festival, this is a great place to learn how to surf. Each instructor has over 18 years of experience and will work with a maximum of 6 students, making this the perfect, personalized learning environment. All you need is basic swimming ability, no experience in surfing is expected.
Start by learning the basics - the lingo, anatomy of the surfboard, proper etiquette, paddling, and pop-up techniques. After some much-needed stretches, you'll move out into the shallow waters to practice! And no worries about the size of the waves. The area where your class is held has small waves, so you won't feel overwhelmed. All of the needed equipment is provided including a soft top surfboard, a leash, even a rash guard or wetsuit if you desire to use one. A cold bottle of water and coconut water is provided.
After your two-hour surfing class, you will have 1-hour free time to explore Cocoa Beach, maybe do some shopping in world famous Ron Jon surfing shop or just relax at the beach. The goal of the day is to do your best, smile, and most importantly, have fun! You should leave Cocoa Beach with amazing memories! Who knows? You may even leave hooked on a new hobby or sport!
When the excursion time comes to an end, you will board your comfortable transportation to return to your Port Canaveral cruise terminal.
