For a great way to see Melbourne's best sights, here is the iconic double-decker bus that allows you to hop on, or hop off wherever you want to explore up close and personally. Customize your day and see the sights and highlights you want to see!

The views from the top deck are phenomenal, so keep those cameras ready. You'll receive a map with all the stops and what you'll find at each, along with a headset that allows you to hear (in English) a narration about the sights you are seeing. Please see the map link below. You can hop on the bus at any of the stops. You may book this up to 3 months prior to your excursion date.

There are 2 different routes that will take you in and around Melbourne - the City Route and the St. Kilda Route. Melbourne is a fascinating city that was founded in 1835, 47 years after the European settlement of Australia. It is also the capital and the most populous city in the state of Victoria with so many wonderful sights to see that it's hard to choose. You'll discover there are stops at such great locations as China Town at stop 12 on the City Route where you can take in the colors, atmosphere, and aromas. At stop 13 on the City Route, is Cathedral Place. This large Catholic Church was built in the 19th century. Or if you want to hit the beaches, then take the St. Kilda Route and hop off at stop 8 to enjoy South Melbourne beach.

Be sure to visit the Eureka tower, which has the highest public vantage point. Or maybe try your luck in the Crown Casino at stop 9 on the St. Kilda Route. Note that entrance fees to the attractions are not included in the excursion price.

The City Route begins at 09:30 AM and the last bus is at 05:30 PM. If you want to just stay on the bus and see the sights, the loop will take approximately 2 hours. The buses run approximately every 40 minutes. The St. Kilda Route begins at 09:45 AM and the last bus is at 04:45 PM. The entire loop takes approximately 90 minutes. The buses run every 60 minutes in the summertime and every 2 hours in the winter.

Excursion Notes

• Excursion prices shown are quoted in US dollars.
• As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered for men and women.
• We suggest you have cash (Australian or US Dollars) on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
• Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
• Please note that admission or entrance fees to the attractions/museums, etc are not included.

For the Melbourne Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing Bus Excursion, there are numerous starting locations all over Melbourne City. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Fold-up wheelchairs can be accommodated on the lower level of the bus only.
• Many sites in the city are not wheelchair accessible.
• Guests must be able to navigate a narrow steep staircase to access the top deck of the bus.
• Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines at most stops.
• There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
• Seating on the bus is on a first come basis.
• Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
• As there is no specific end time the excursion, it is the guest's responsibility to know their ships scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
