For this off-road buggy kart shore excursion, you are picked up at the cruise ship pier in Ketchikan by motor coach and transported to the rainforest wilderness. Along the way, you will learn about the history, culture, and economy of Ketchikan and Alaska as well as have a little fun.

After a 30-minute transfer to the Adventure Kart Cruise Excursion base camp, your Ketchikan shore excursion guides will meet you and help you gear up for your off-road kart adventure excursion. Next, you will receive a safety briefing and an overview of what is to come. Feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of your Ketchikan shore excursion as you navigate an obstacle course in a custom-designed Polaris RZR that tests your ability to traverse through the remaining Alaskan wilderness. Then it is time to head out on this exciting, 90-minute guided trek. Your kart is an automatic drive.

Your caravan of karts will seek to explore the remote Ketchikan backcountry along several miles of improved forest trail, with your adventure shore excursion guide in the lead ATV. A comfortable and safe pace is maintained as you thread your way around steep curves, climbing to reveal unparalleled views of the Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal, and Alaska's fabled Inside Passage.

Excursion stops will be made along the way to soak up the grandeur and beauty of this lush land and take photos. Approximately halfway through this Ketchikan Alaska Adventure Kart Cruise Excursion, a stop will be made to stretch and enjoy a snack and water before beginning the second part of the drive. Drivers and passengers have the opportunity to switch positions at this point for the return trip.

Your adventure kart caravan will continue along forest trails. Although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, keep your eyes open for eagles, deer, and bears that frequently make appearances along these trails. You will return back to the excursion base where you will have approximately 15 minutes to stretch, use the facilities, or purchase a souvenir. From here, it is a 30-minute drive back to Ketchikan and your cruise ship terminal.

Excursion Notes

• The camp is located on the side of a hill so there are steps and steep inclines at the base camp.
  
• There are basic restrooms at the base camp.
  
• Due to recent weather conditions, the roads may be dusty or muddy. Wear something that will get dirty.
  
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if shore excursion requirements are not met.
  
• We recommend wearing layers with the top layer being waterproof.
• Closed-toed shoes that may get wet are required.
  
• We suggest you have cash on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.

Where we meet

For this Ketchikan Adventure Kart Expedition Excursion, you will meet your local shore excursion guide right at the Ketchikan cruise pier area. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Drivers must show a valid driver's license.
• Participants must be at least 50in (127cm) tall and weigh between 40lbs (18Kg) and 300lbs (136Kg).
• Karts accommodate two guests.
• Due to the bumpy ride, this excursion is not recommended for guests with neck or back problems or expectant mothers.
• A liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the excursion operator.
• In addition to the waiver, children under the age of 18 must also have a signed parental consent form to participate without a parent or guardian.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
• Your ship skips/misses the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
  
• Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
