Come and enjoy a fun filled day with lots to see and do with this Dominica Eco Excursion. Take in the panoramic views that you'll want to capture with your camera.

First you will meet your English-speaking guide near your Dominica cruise ship terminal. Then you will be escorted to your air conditioned van and head out for your first stop at the beautiful Champagne Reef. During your natural highlights excursion, your guide will be giving you lots of information about the area as well as some local stories and history.

At the reef, you will encounter a unique phenomenon. You will be swimming through bubbles that are created from the geo-thermal springs running underneath, creating what appears to be millions of tiny champagne bubbles and hence the name, Champagne Reef. This portion of the excursion will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Guests may also choose to just stay on the beach area. If you prefer, you can bring along your snorkel gear or rent it ($6.00 USD for fins and mask).

Your route will take you through the Botanical Gardens (approximately 15 minutes from Champagne Reef) where you will enjoy the variety of tropical foliage that is native to the beautiful island of Dominica. While driving through the scenery at this lush garden, keep in mind this is just one of the many locations on this excursion for picture postcard photos.

Then your guide will take you to Titou Gorge (approximately 15 minutes away) which was a filming location for the movie, Pirates of the Caribbean 2. From the parking lot, you will take a 5-10 minute walk to the gorge itself. Then you will wade through the water for approximately 2 minutes to the natural cavernous area that is simply breathtaking. No worries, the depth will be about waist high at it's deepest. You may also have the opportunity to climb the falls, weather depending, and swim belts will be provided. Your time at Titou Gorge will be approximately 45 minutes.

Then on to Trafalgar Falls, which is approximately a 30-minute drive away. Sit back and relax in your air conditioned van as you pass some more amazing scenery. Once you have arrived at the falls parking lot, you will have a ten-minute walk under the rain forest canopy to the viewing lookout point. There you will enjoy the sight of the Father Falls (125 ft/38 meters) and the Mother Falls (75 ft/23 meters) and then follow your guide to the collection pool at the bottom of the falls - dip your toes in or take a refreshing plunge all while listening to the cascading sounds surrounding you. Your time at Trafalgar Falls is approximately 45 minutes.

During this excursion, you will also have the opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view from Morne Bruce overlook of the city and your ship below. Please note, however, the itinerary order can change depending upon traffic.

Finally, you will be taken back to your Dominica cruise ship pier.

Excursion Notes

• We suggest you bring your snorkel gear, swimsuit, sun protection, towel, waterproof camera, cash for balance payment, tips, souvenirs, food, drinks, etc.
  
• Wear sports sandals or tennis shoes that you do not mind to get wet. Snorkel gear is available to rent - $6.00 USD but the operator will provide a flotation vest.
• Entrance fees are not included, each guest needs to pay $7.00 USD cash added to the balance payment ($2.00 USD at Champagne Reef and $5.00 at the falls, per person).
• Please pay attention to restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if requirements are not met.

Where we meet

For the Dominica Natural Highlights Eco Excursion, you will meet outside the Dominica cruise terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Minimum participation age is 2 years old.
• Guest must be able to walk up and down steps and on uneven grounds.
• Guest must be reasonably fit, have basic swimming skills and comfortable in the ocean to participate in activities.
• Guests with pre-existing epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, cardiac conditions or any other heart conditions, respiratory conditions or other medical conditions must take particular caution when selecting excursions as it involves swimming/snorkeling elements as such water activities could be subject to adverse conditions such as high winds, waves, and currents.
• Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying parent.
• This Dominica Natural Highlights Eco Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
