Why follow the crowds on the usual tourist excursions when you can strike out on your own and see exactly what you want to see? This experience is made for the more adventurous traveler!
Meet a rental representative at the ATV rental agency just outside your Aruba cruise port. This day is already off to the perfect start. Rent an ATV for up to 4 hours to explore the beautiful island of Aruba and its interesting sites! Aruba law requires that you wear a DOT-approved helmet, which will be provided to you and your passenger. You must be at least 18 years old to rent and drive, and passengers must be at least 5 years old (2 people per ATV only). Your representative will brief you on all of the safety information you need. Your only question will be is where to go first! You decide if you want the ATV for up to 4 hours or up to 8. If you only want it for an hour, no problem! And single riding is the same price as double - please see the pricing below.
An internet search of places of interest in Aruba will turn up a wide variety of options. Do you want to simply drive the roads and see the island? Perhaps you will want to stop at the Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins on the northern coast. Here, you will see the remains of the abandoned gold mill that was active during the 19th-century gold rush in Aruba! There are plenty of photo opportunities, and you can enjoy the fresh air as you climb the rocks! Refreshments and restrooms are available as well. Not far from these ruins is a natural bridge you might want to check out, too.
Also on the northern end of the island, you will find the California Lighthouse that was totally refurbished recently. For a small fee, you can tour the lighthouse and learn of its interesting history from a guide. If you're up to it, the best part of visiting this lighthouse is climbing the stairs to the top! From there, you will have the most breathtaking, spectacular, 360-degree view of Aruba and the surrounding water! It's worth the climb.
After all that climbing, you may want to stop to rest for a bit and have a bite to eat! One of the favorite dishes of Aruba, for obvious reasons, is fish! And, if you are a foodie, you will want to experience the true food of the island and eat with the locals! Make your way to the city of Savaneta and the seaside restaurant called Zeerover. First, the views of the sea are spectacular through the wall of windows or the deck overlooking the sea! The menu consists of Aruban, Caribbean, and Dutch fare, with all fish, caught fresh daily and served either grilled or fried! This simple and inexpensive menu is served for both lunch and dinner.
There are also some more laid back options such as the private beach in San Nicolas or visiting the religious site at Lourdes Grotto. Whether an activity is your preference or you enjoy a bit of serenity away from everyone, Aruba has it all.
At the end of your rental time, completely personalized adventure, return your ATV just outside your Aruba cruise port and be sure to fill the tank.
Get adventurous and explore Aruba on your own. With your ATV rental you would be able to get to places you wouldn't imagine. Have fun!
