The adventure begins with a relaxing 90 minute drive on Costa Rica's most scenic road, National Route 27; driving by lush valleys, green pasture lands, coffee plantations and several small towns. As you arrive in San Jose, your scenic drive takes you to The Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the most important and symbolic buildings. The Cathedral was built with the objective of spreading the Christian religion in Costa Rica; and has now become the epicenter of the Christian faith in Costa Rica. There is also, The National Theater (Teatro Nacional), considered the point of reference of Costa Rican Fine Arts and Performing Arts.
Next visit the National Museum, which was once a fortress and now houses a vast collection of archeological and historical artifacts. Your drive will also take you through the Rohrmoser district, La Sabana Park and National Stadium.
Before heading back to your Puerto Caldera Cruise Terminal you will be treated to a delicious Costa Rican Lunch. After lunch, it's time to head back to your Puerto Caldera cruise ship pier. Your guide and driver will drop you off at the entrance of the cruise terminal and make sure to have you back in plenty of time, so no worries, just relax and enjoy your day!
Note: The places visited may vary in sequence to avoid crowds. On Sundays the National Theater is closed and access is not allowed; therefore, the Golden Museum is substituted.
