This private Maui sightseeing shore excursion departs from your cruise tender pier in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. The adventure starts with a 45-minute drive to the east side of the island and what was once sugarcane country. For over 1,000 years sugarcane has been part of the Hawaiian way of life. You will also pass by the Puunene sugar mill, the last working sugar mill in the State of Hawaii. You will pass through Paia, once the center of the local sugar industry, now it's a destination for windsurfers and weekend outings. Continue along the coast to Ho`okipa Beach Park lookout. This is the windsurfing capital on Maui and on just about any day, you can see the windsurfers gliding along the water like colorful butterflies. You may also spot Hawaiian sea turtles along the beach.
Leaving the coast behind, you will drive uphill, passing through what is known as Pineapple Country. Maui was once a huge exporter of pineapple. Now pineapples are only grown for local markets, restaurants, and the Maui Winery in Ulupalakua. As you explore Pineapple Country, your sightseeing shore excursion driver will tell you more about the people, pineapple camps, and mills that once occupied these hills.
The next excursion stop is the Ali`i Kula Lavender Farm which is located at approximately 4,000 feet (1219 meters) above sea level. The climate at that elevation is perfect for growing lavender as well as many other tropical plants. Take in the views, enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, and scones; then wander through fragrant rows of olive trees, proteas, hydrangea, and more than 45 varieties of lavender. There is a gift shop selling handmade products for you to purchase.
The 20,000-acre (8093 hectares) Ulupalakua Ranch is your next stop and just a quick 30-minute drive away. Besides livestock, Ulupalakua has a winery and a store. On the way there, your guide will tell you some of the 150-year histories of the ranch. You will visit the old King's Cottage, home to the winery, to sample locally made pineapple or grape-based wines. You will then visit the famous Ranch Store restaurant for lunch. Choose from a burger made with fresh ranch beef, lamb, or locally grown Taro root (vegetarian). After lunch, you will have 2 options to choose from for your last stop. One option is the Surfing Goat Dairy in Lower Kula. In the gift shop, you can find soaps as well as other locally made products for sale.

Surrounded by sugarcane fields, they use sustainable farming to grow numerous varieties of sugarcane. Where we meet

Cancellation
For the Lahaina Maui Private Full Day Up Country Deluxe Sightseeing Adventure Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 48 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.
For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:
- Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
- Your ship skips/misses the port.
- Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
- A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
- Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
- Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
