Chankannab Beach Adventure Park is a protected area that shelters not only marine life but more than 136 amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. The Park also resembles ancient Mayan life and customs. This is an ideal place to enjoy your day in Cozumel!

It is a short taxi ride to the Chankannab Beach Adventure Park from your Cozumel cruise pier, the ride takes 10 to 15 minutes and approximately $10.00 USD for up to 4 passengers depending on the cruise port you arrive at. When you check-in, the entrance fee is conveniently included on your ticket, so the only thing you have to worry about is swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the day at your leisure! Chankanaab is open from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM - you may arrive and depart when you like.

The reef is very near the shore as soon as you get in the water you can spot diverse marine life such as parrotfish, sergeant majors, lobsters, angels, surgeonfish, and multiple types of corals. The ocean is clear and the water temperature goes from 77° to 85° F (25° - 29° C).

There is easy access from both the sandy beach and from wide stairs leading into the water. All of your snorkel gear is included and the friendly, English-speaking staff will assist you and show you how to use the equipment. Then the day is yours!

The park offers a look at life in ancient Mayan civilization - you can visit the "Mayan House" and maybe enjoy a handmade tortilla. There is an on-site botanical garden and other Mayan exhibits, a tequila demonstration, and the sea lion show are also included in your ticket, it is fun for all ages! Visit the crocodile exhibit or relax on the comfortable beach chairs. There is a swimming pool on-site as well as inviting hammocks under the palms. Restaurants and souvenirs store are available for purchase. There are lockers, restrooms and showers also included.

At the end of your day, there are taxis outside Chankanaab waiting to take you back to your Cozumel cruise terminal.

• Chankanaab Park Cozumel is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  
• This special Cozumel shore excursion is not available for purchase at the park.
• Transportation to and from Chankanaab Park is not included. Taxi fare to Chankanaab park is approximate $10.00 USD per taxi, seating 4 people.
• There are some beach wheelchairs available at the park (ask a staff member for one).
• Other activities (not included in your ticket) available in the park are dolphin encounters, zip line tours, spa services, and more.
• Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.

Where we meet

For the Cozumel Chankanaab National Marine Park Shore Snorkel Excursion, you will meet directly at the entrance of Chankanaab Park. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Restrictions

• Some medical restrictions apply to snorkel, please check with your doctor if you are fit for snorkeling.
• Parents will need to supervise their children at all times. Snorkel gear fits a typical 5-year-old and up.
• This Cozumel Chankanaab National Marine Park Shore Snorkel Excursion may involve risks. We suggest you check with your elected person of choice to see if these possible risks might affect you.

Excursion FAQ

Cancellation

• You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
• Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
• Your ship misses/skips the port.
• Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
• A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
  
• Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
• Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
