A fun and unique way to explore the 2nd largest barrier reef off Cozumel Island. View the beauty from the safety and comfort of the Atlantis submarine as it dives more than 30ft down.
You will begin your fun just a short distance from the cruise piers. The friendly, English-speaking submarine excursion staff will get you checked in and onto the water shuttle. The shuttle will take you to the Submarine located at Chankanaab Park just 12 minutes away. You will get aboard the sub, get settled, and be ready for a beautiful view of the incredible marine life.
Each person will have a great view with individual seating and large viewing windows. The interior is air-conditioned and was built to USCG standards and is inspected/certified yearly. The English-speaking co-captain will be giving you interesting information about what you are seeing right outside the windows and answering any questions you might have. Expect a great show put on by Mother Nature! Endless colorful tropical fish, sponges, and giant coral formations.
The dive below is about 40 minutes before returning to the surface and back to Chankanaab. The water shuttle will then take you back to the meeting point. You will have the chance to view the photos and browse the souvenir shop.
Note: There is a marine park fee that is not included and must be paid onsite when you check in - the cost is approximately $5.00 USD.

Excursion Notes
A $5.00 USD Marine Park fee is not included in the price and needs to be paid in cash upon arrival.
Please note you will need to sign in at least 15 minutes before the excursion departure.
Bring along comfortable shoes and a camera.
Where we meet
For the Atlantis Submarine Excursion in Cozumel, you will meet at the Atlantis welcome center, just a 10-minute walk from the south piers Puerta Maya or International piers, or a 5-minute taxi ride from the Punta Langosta downtown pier.
Excursion Restrictions
Guests may participate if they are able to safely navigate a 12-step ladder into and out of the submarine. (Handrails available)
Guests confined to wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on this Cozumel shore excursion.
Children must be at least 3ft (91cm) tall to participate.
All under-aged children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The minimum age to participate is 4 years old, no infants allowed.
The minimum age for alcohol consumption is 18 years old.
Guests who want to access in a bathing suit and/or barefoot will not be allowed.
Time submerged for approximately 45 minutes.
Pregnant women, without previous complications, can carry out the activity up to the 6th month of pregnancy.
Maximum weight is 220lbs and the maximum width is 50" due to tight doorways and seating.
Additional services have an extra cost (photos, lockers, or souvenirs).
Tour operation is subject to permissible weather conditions.
Atlantis Submarines Cozumel reserves the right to refuse admission in case of adverse conditions for the safety of our passengers.
If guests do not follow or do not comply with the indicated safety instructions, you will not be allowed to continue with the activity and a refund does not apply in this situation
Excursion FAQ
I had problems equalizing my ear pressure in the past when diving, will I need to equalize my ear pressure on this Submarine Excursion in Cozumel?
No, you will not need to equalize ear pressure as the pressure inside the Submarine cabin remains the same throughout the excursion.
Do I need to take my passport with me on the Cozumel Atlantis Submarine Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
No, it is not necessary to take along your passport or driver's license unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
Cancellation
For the Cozumel Atlantis Submarine Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if:
You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
Your ship misses/skips the port.
Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

If you have ever wanted to scuba dive but were too scared to do so, or if you wanted to go deeper than you are able to scuba diving, this excursion is definitely a must to do!!! Safety is a top priority, the ship that takes you out to the sub is very clean, and the submarine itself is spotless! We had an absolute fabulous time and the crew is very attentive and knowledgeable. This tour is for all ages and definitely was a highlight of our visit to Cozumel. We will be back!!! We were a traveling group of 2 families which included 4 adults, 2 teens and 2 10 year olds. We spent 2 weeks on Cozumel for the 2015 holidays.
All 8 of us did the Atlantis Submarine on 12-24-15. This excursion was a great way to see the reef system around Cozumel without getting wet. I would have given the Atlantis Submarine a 5 star rating instead of a 4 star rating except I found it to be a little on the expensive side.
Everything went just as described on our tickets, however we were a little late getting started, but I'm not sure why. The submarine dove to a depth over a 100 feet at the deepest spot. We viewed the reef, saw a lot of fish including a good sized shark and 2 massive (350+ pound) groupers, saw a sunken ship and skirted one of the reef walls.
The submarine was easy to get on and off of via the water shuttle. The seats are hard acrylic-plastic that are not the most comfortable, but you aren't on them too long. The captain or his helper described what we were seeing and were easy to understand. The staff on the water shuttle and the submarine were well informed and professional. The water shuttle was clean and well equipped.
We would probably do this excursion again. Show Management Response
