Tired of the typical guided tours? Do you long to just get out and explore on your own? This adventure is tailor-made for you!
Just outside your Aruba cruise port, your rental staff will have your 2-wheeled scooter ready for you to explore Aruba on your own. You decide how you want to spend the time, whether it's on a private beach or visiting some of the famous sites on the island. You choose the time to meet the rental representative who will give you a thorough safety briefing. It is mandatory that you wear a DOT-approved helmet, which will be provided for you. Please note that in order to rent a scooter, you must be 18 years old and have a valid motorcycle license. Your passenger can be anyone 5 years and up.
There are so many things that you can do on your personally-designed adventure. If you want a quiet, relaxing day, there are a couple of options. How about spending time at a secluded beach? One of the best secrets of Aruba is the beach in San Nicolas; even the locals don't generally go there! Sunbathe, take long walks on the sand, wade in the sea; it's your choice. Or, perhaps you would just like some time to reflect and experience peace. On the south side of the island is Lourdes Grotto, a very religious site commemorating the famous landmark in France. This shrine is built into the rocks, and the statue of the Virgin Mary is said to protect and bless anyone who visits. In the quiet that surrounds you, you may leave prayers for loved ones or just take some time to reflect.
Maybe you just want to see some of the sites. The best thing you can do is an internet search, but these are just a few of the possibilities. If you enjoy walking and/or climbing, make your way to the city of Paradera to the Casibari Rock Formation. No one knows for sure how the boulders that are stacked on top of one another got there, but the panoramic view from the top of the formation is breathtaking! As you walk around the park, you will see flora and fauna that are native to Aruba. If you need some refreshments, there is a bar at the entrance.
Another point of interest is the refurbished California Lighthouse on the northwest tip of the island. For a small fee, you can tour the lighthouse and learn its history. The best part, though, is climbing the stairs to the top for the most spectacular, 360-degree view of Aruba and its surrounding waters from the highest point on the island. You will be in awe of this site!
No matter where your heart takes you on this absolutely personalized adventure, you will be sure to have a great time. When you return your scooter at the end of your rental time, be sure that the tank is full to avoid a surcharge!
Are you tired of the common excursions? Want to do your own excursion and rent a scooter to explore places you won't even imagine? You can choose from full day or half day scooter rental and make your own day of fun!
